The Ariel Atom 500 V8 is an open-wheel track car by Ariel. It is featured in Asphalt 8: Airborne.
Description
The Ariel Atom 500 V8 is a high-performance version of the Ariel Atom, featuring a 3.0 L (2,970 cc; 181.2 cu in) racing V8 engine producing 475 hp (354 kW) and 268 ft·lb (363 N·m). The main differences from the Atom are the carbon fiber body panels and aerofoils. The V8 is an extremely high-revving one, revving past 10,000 rpm.
The Ariel Atom 500 V8 is capable of reaching 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3 seconds, after which it hits 100 mph (161 km/h) 2.7 seconds later. It has a top speed exceeding 177 mph (285 km/h).

Summary
Shortened just to Ariel Atom V8, it was added in the Fall Out Boy Update as a high-end Class D car with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 1050
- Hidden MAX rank: 1242 (+192)
- The car does not have any MAX upgrades, but 10 Pro Kit levels instead.
- PRO rank: 1372 (+130)
- This is the highest of any Class D vehicle, excluding the deleted Despicable Me "Villain Wheels".
- Stock to PRO rank difference: +322
- Upgrade Rank Percentages: 10/40/10/40
- Tuning Kit bonus: +49
- Nitro Efficiency: 6/8/10
Performance
The Ariel Atom V8 sports amazing acceleration. It has a strong nitro boost coupled with an extremely high nitro efficiency. This is offset by its mediocre top speed of 227.8 mph/366.8 km/h. The Atom has relatively stiff steering, a sharp drift radius and extreme tire grip; this often results in frequent "over-steering" when drifting around corners. The car's shape, coupled with its low weight, also makes it more likely to wreck; while not every collision is a guaranteed wreck, players should expect more wrecks than usual while driving the Atom.
The Atom is a competitive Class D car if one does not have the Mazda RX-8 or Hyundai i30 N.
The Atom can be considered as an alternate version of the Porsche 959, with a lower nitro stat.
Official review
This is the official review of the Ariel Atom V8 on the Asphalt YouTube channel, made by ReV_Tez and published on February 28, 2018:
Time to reach end of Tokyo straight: 8.316s
Perfect nitro duration: 13.002s
Triple nitro duration: 10.131s
French Guiana lap time: 1.12.633
Final verdict: "Although The Ariel Atom V8 is not the new King of D Class, its overall performance is terrific. It is a great alternative to the Mazda RX-8, however it requires 68 V8 engine cards which is excessive. The highlights of this car would be its acceleration and nitro duration!"
Usage
Events
The Atom is never seen in the top 100 in general Class D TLEs due to the great affluence of the Mazda RX-8 and Hyundai i30 N. It is, however, better than the SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI and Donkervoort D8 GTO.
Multiplayer
With the prototype multiplayer matchmaking, the Atom was one of the best multiplayer cars with its exceptional acceleration, nitro efficiency, and drifting.
As of the Fast Lane Update, the Atom is now competitive in Multiplayer, only rivaled by the ED Design Torq and McLaren M14A.
Price & Availability
Outside of its Championship, the Ariel Atom V8 costs 4,800 to purchase. Pro Kits require 1,135,925, 10 of each Class D Part, 22 Early & Initial Techs each, and 68 V8 engines.
Following its debut in the Championship, the Atom V8 was made available for purchase for the first time on August 31, 2018, with a 25% discounted price of 3,600.
