The Owl is adequate enough at stock to complete all unrestricted Class S Career Mode races with the exception of the Exclusive Metal Events. Until other useful cars such as the McLaren 675LT, Pagani Huayra BC, Apollo Intensa Emozione, Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition, and/or 2018 McLaren X2 can be obtained and fully upgraded, the Owl has a very solid niche in single-player. |

The Aspark Owl (JP: アスパーク OWL) is an electric hypercar, under development since 2018, with the goal of making the fastest accelerating electric car. The OWL will be built by Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) in Italy.
Description
After years of teasing, the Aspark Owl is finally here, and the Japanese electric hypercar claims to be the quickest in the world with the ability to hit 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in just 1.69 seconds. This is possible thanks to four electric motors making a total of 1,985 horsepower (1,480 kilowatts) and 1,475 pound-feet (2,000 Newton-meters) of torque.
Aspark claims world-beating performance specs for the Owl. The claimed top speed is 249 mph (400 kph), and a run from a stop to 186 mph (300 kph) requires a mere 10.6 seconds. The machine packs a 64-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery that provides a claimed range of 280 miles (450 kilometers) in the NEDC test. Aspark says that a larger battery could be available in the near future.
Aspark wants the Owl's exterior to portray a feminine appearance. The body features a mix of taut creases and smooth curves. All of the panels are carbon fiber reinforced plastic, except for a stainless steel frame in the roof for extra support. The machine's total height is just 38.9764 inches (99 centimeters). Underneath the skin, there's a carbon-fiber monocoque that weighs just 265 pounds (120 kilograms).
The Owl rides on a double-wishbone suspension at each corner. Hydraulic dampers have three modes that offer between 3.15 inches (80 millimeters) and 6.299 inches (160 millimeters) of ground clearance. Carbon-ceramic brake discs with 10-piston calipers in front and 4-piston stoppers at the back help slow down the hypercar.
Aspark doesn't provide a good look at the Owl's interior. There are four displays on the inside, and two of them function as screens for the rear-facing cameras that incorporate into the side mirrors.
Aspark will make just 50 examples of the Owl at a price of €2.9 million ($3.2 million at current exchange rates). The company intends deliveries to start in the second quarter of 2020.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
The Aspark Owl was added in the 2020 Spring Update as a high-end Class S car with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 1688
- MAX rank: ? (+?)
- PRO rank: 1859 (+?)
- Tuning Kit bonus: +55
- Stock to PRO rank difference: 171
- Nitro Efficiency: 7/11/14
Performance
The Aspark Owl, being a Festival car, has very poor performance in respect to its rank until it reaches the full-PRO upgrade level. At full-PRO, the Owl has a very high maximum speed of 315.3 mph (507.8 km/h), very quick acceleration, mediocre handling, good drifting, and good nitro efficiency. The Owl's combination of a very high maximum speed and very quick acceleration places it as yet another king of the game alongside the Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4, Koenigsegg Jesko, Pagani Huayra BC, McLaren Senna, Ferrari FXX K, McLaren 600LT, 2018 McLaren X2, etc.
The Aspark Owl has the highest on-paper acceleration statistic in the game, reading 0.77 seconds at full-PRO without a Tuning Kit and 0.73 seconds at full-PRO with a Tuning Kit. In reality, the Owl seems to be at least within the top ten fastest accelerating vehicles in the game, with faster acceleration than rivals such as the Jesko and Senna. The Owl's acceleration does not seem to be superior to that of the Centenario and X2. As such, the Centenario is superior or equal to the Owl in all performance aspects.
The Aspark Owl's main performance drawback is its mediocre handling capabilities, which give it an overall performance model comparable to that of the Rimac C_Two. Despite this, the Owl can still be very effective in skilled hands. The Owl has the second-worst on-paper handling statistic among its competitors, only ahead of the Devel Sixteen Prototype.
Usage
The Owl is adequate enough at stock to complete all unrestricted Class S Career Mode races with the exception of the Exclusive Metal Events. Until other useful cars such as the McLaren 675LT, Pagani Huayra BC, Apollo Intensa Emozione, Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition, and/or 2018 McLaren X2 can be obtained and fully upgraded, the Owl has a very solid niche in single-player.
Price
The Aspark Owl is obtainable by reaching Tier 8 of its Festival. If viewed in the Tag Racing car selection menu, it will show a price of 18,000, however, the option to buy the car is unavailable.
The Owl could be obtained during its Festival Special between April 22-25, 2020 as a reward for claiming 5 spins. Players who already own the car would receive 2 Kit cards instead.
Pro Kits require 3,720,000 and 220 Kit cards.
