Game Changes[]

Gameplay Changes[]

Main article: Asphalt Moments
  • Asphalt Moments is a new series of special events that are repeats of previous special events.
  • Reduction in pro kits Fusion Points:
    • The Fusion Points for Common Pro Cards have been reduced from Fusion Points 650 to Fusion Points 500 while Rare Pro Cards were reduced from Fusion Points 1,500 to Fusion Points 1,000.
    • The Fusion Points for Blueprints have been reduced by 50%. Common Blueprints now give Fusion Points 1,500 points instead of Fusion Points 3,000, rare Blueprints give Fusion Points 4,500 and legendary Blueprints give Fusion Points 9,000 instead of Fusion Points 18,000.
  • The Season 9 duplicate race for the Porsche 718 Boxster S, set in Dubai Reverse, has been removed.
    • This race was originally for the Scion FR-S; however, after licensing issues caused the FR-S to become unavailable for purchase, the events for the FR-S were replaced with the Porsche 718 Boxster S.
  • There is no longer a loading screen when the player restarts or replays a race event when online. Previously it could only be done when offline.
    • Despite this, the traffic pattern will still occasionally change when the race is restarted or replayed, being carried on from the previous update.
    • The feature was corrected on June 20th, but it can still be done offline.
    • On some devices the feature works only when being offline all the time (counting from the last game restart).
  • Vehicles that give Champion Kit Boxes as rewards in their Masteries have had these boxes changed into Blueprint boxes.
  • As of this update, it is possible to play two events of the same type at once. For example, some players had to play the Mazda RX-8 SE's R&D along with the W Motors Fenyr SuperSport's R&D, the latter of which was relaunched through Asphalt Moments.
  • 6 races for the 2018 McLaren X2 have been added in the McLaren Legends Season.
    • They erroneously reuse the recommended rank values for the last three races in the McLaren Legends Season requiring the McLaren MP4-31.
  • Tokens only upgrades are once again used on the Mazda RX-8 SE, Rezvani Beast Alpha, and Rimac Concept S.
  • The revived Porsche 718 Boxster S Championship doesn't award blueprints for the car; the car is given only after the completion of all the Grand Finales instead.

Cosmetic Changes[]

  • The engine sounds for the BMW S 1000 RR and Kawasaki Ninja H2R have been changed to "Kawasaki Z1000" (bike_kawasaki_z1000), from the previous sound "Yamaha R1 1000cc Superbike" (1000cc_yamaha_superbike) and "Kawasaki Ninja" (bike_kawasaki_ninja), respectively.
    • The note also plays at constant redlining even when the vehicle is still accelerating.
  • Mirroring the Porsche Update including Simple Mobile advertisements and decals, this update includes Straight Talk advertisements and decals on various tracks in the game (the same ones that received Simple Mobile advertisements in 2017, as well as the Arash AF10). These are available only in USA.
    • The Munich Subway has also received the Straight Talk treatment; unlike all other Straight Talk-decorated tracks in the game, it does not have an additional pre-race cinematic showing the Straight Talk decorations.
      • On August 3, 2018, most tracks now have Asphalt 9: Legends decorations, to promote the game sequel (released on July 26, 2018).
      • These were disabled on September 1, 2018, but were re-enabled on December 13, 2018 during the Transylvania Update
  • The two checkered strips used to mark the start/finish line on tracks are now placed further apart.
Offers
  • The blue outline introduced in the previous update, which was only used for Mastery, has been added to the PLAY menu as well when selecting race modes.
  • Time-limited offers have been moved to a new tab labeled "Offers", accessed from the main menu.

Bugs / Glitches[]

  • On Windows, vehicle prices were reverted to the ones prior to March 23, 2018 (for accounts created prior to November 13, 2017) or the prices prior to the price changes on the aforementioned date and January 19, 2018 (for new accounts created from November 13, 2017 onwards). This means that cars such as the Devel Sixteen Prototype, Tramontana XTR, and Chrysler ME412 became Tokens-only, while the likes of the Lotus Evora Enduro GT, Lamborghini Veneno, Ford Shelby GT500, Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, etc. became Credits-only. This issue did not appear on Android or iOS, either before or after the update.
    • This was fixed on June 15, 2018, three days before the release of the update.
  • In the Garage, the wheels of the Mazda RX-8 SE fit the wheel arches, but during a race, the wheel arches extend beyond the wheels. The brake calipers are also mismatched in color; the ones in the front are in red while the ones in the rear are in black.
  • The following glitch(es) still persist from the 2018 Spring Update:
    • Longer loading times (Android)
    • Gameplay lag (Android)
    • Erratic R&D rewards indicator
    • No stunt meter on a replayed race when using a motorcycle
    • No loading screen
  • Fenyr SuperSport Bugged MAX+PRO Rank: Should the Fenyr SuperSport be assembled with Blueprints, its MAX+PRO rank will not be displayed as 1799, but instead 1624, as though the player participated in the car's R&D event and did not complete any of the Tests whatsoever.[1]
  • Aggressive AI: AI are reportedly to be more aggressive and more likely to catch up to the player. Should they be in front of the player, they will then leave him/her behind more easily.
  • No nitro refill during air times: Occasionally the nitro bar may not be recharged when the player drives the vehicle into the air (without triggering stunts such as barrel rolls and flat spins).
  • Exclusive Deals failed transaction: Sometimes, an Exclusive Deal may be displayed as having a price of N/A, but attempting to buy it will result in a failed transaction. Sometimes it can happen even when the Exclusive Deal does have a normal price.
  • Cars disappearing from garage: Both the Zenvo ST1 and Vencer Sarthe disappeared for a few days after the update was released for those who did not own either car. However, the blueprint progress for those were still tracked when their blueprints are viewed in the inventory. This was later fixed.

The glitch displayed after a Grand Finale race

  • Championship Glitches:
    • In the McLaren X2 Championship, the player's team and the remaining racers' teams keep swapping when the results are displayed in both Elimination and Grand Finale modes. (See images to the right) For the latter event, when the player wins a grand finale, the player will receive 2nd place points but will still receive earnings in first place.
      • Also, only the player receives points in the championship standings while the other AI racers show no increase in championship points.
    • If the player collects all remaining trophies after receiving the reward vehicle from the Championship, the final rewards won't be given out and the event tab still remains on the main menu, but the Championship interface could not be entered.
      • Tapping the "Play" button from the garage showing the rewarded vehicle will instead bring the player back to the main menu.
  • The Sbarro GT1's handling was displayed as 1.350 Gs, and then decreased when upgraded. This was fixed in the next update so it has a starting handling stat of 1.285 Gs and a MAX handling stat of 1.325 Gs.

Fixed bugs[]

  • The following glitch(es) have been fixed:
    • No nitro sounds when a race is replayed

Trivia[]

  • This update is the first update since the addition of motorcycles in the Motorcycles Update where no new motorcycles are added.
  • This is also the first update where none of the vehicles added are obtainable outside of events. All vehicles must be unlocked during their respective events, as they are not purchasable with credits or tokens, and are not Blueprint-buildable.
  • All the cars added in this update reuse layouts of old special events for their own events.
  • This update once again reuses the Research & Development Update icon featuring the McLaren P1™ GTR for the 8th time.
    • It is also the only update released in 2018 which uses the P1 GTR icon.
  • This is the second update since the Car Mastery Update to add vehicles whose Masteries do not have Token Rewards.
