Description
The BMW M2 Special Edition is a fictional tuned version of the BMW M2 with aftermarket modifications.
The car sports the traditional BMW racing livery of red, blue and cyan instead of the Chinese New Year-themed paintwork seen on the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition and Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition.

Summary
The BMW M2 Special Edition is a high-end Class B car added in the Fall Out Boy Update, with the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 917
- MAX rank: 1442
- MAX+PRO rank: 1687
- Tuning Kit bonus: +75
The BMW M2 SE mainly rivals the Mazda RX-8 Special Edition, Mercedes-AMG GT3, Ferrari GTC4Lusso and McLaren MP4/8.
Performance
The well rounded performance of the BMW M2 Special Edition makes it similar to a Class B version of either the Arrinera Hussarya GT or the Aston Martin Vulcan.
The BMW M2 Special Edition has mediocre acceleration that is slightly slower than some of its competition like the AMG GT3 and Holden Coupe 60. However, it is faster than certain cars too, like the GTC4Lusso.
The BMW M2 Special Edition's handling and drifting are very good and make it easy to control, with a precise drift radius that is very tight, but not enough to cause frequent oversteering (such as the case with the Vulcan).
The BMW M2 Special Edition's main advantage is its top speed, as the highest in B Class. Depending on the car, the M2 SE can go up to 10 km/h faster than other high-end B Class cars, e.g. the McLaren MP4/8. Adding on to that, the M2 SE has an excellent nitro efficiency rating of 6/10/15.
With the BMW M2 Special Edition's exceptional and balanced performance, it is able to clock extreme timings on all tracks.
Before its release, it was anticipated to beat, or at the least rival the AMG GT3, the B Class king since its release. As many noted, given their extremely similar performance, it all boiled down to the Tuning Kit bonus. Upon its release, the M2 SE triumphed the AMG GT3 in this aspect, which ultimately allowed it to surpass the AMG GT3.
Usage
Multiplayer
Given the BMW M2 Special Edition's large rank gap between its starting rank and MAX+PRO rank, the M2 Special Edition is a serious competitor in Multiplayer against various stalwarts like the Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS and TVR Sagaris. The BMW M2 Special Edition's main rivals are the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition and Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition as the former has higher top speed while the latter is capable of similar performance at a significantly lower rank.
The BMW M2 Special Edition is very sought after given how easy its unique new event was, in comparison to other special events, despite being fairly confusing for many players, and the fact that it can still be assembled with Common-rarity blueprints. It is therefore a very popular car and appearances of at least one other M2 Special Edition in the same race are common. Racing double boosted is recommended for a more competitive technique, while racing triple boosted is advisable when reaching for higher leagues.
The BMW M2 Special Edition is best used at higher ranks, due to it able to compete with the Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS and Aston Martin Vulcan. It is not as good at lower ranks due to the Audi R8 e-Tron Special Edition going faster at lower ranks.
Some viable Multiplayer tunes for the BMW M2 Special Edition include 5505 5050 and 5505 5555 (special thanks to Dr. Healusion for this tune). With these tunes, the BMW M2 Special Edition can compete with the Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS, but the second tune is generally better unless you are running low on i6 Engine cards. In order for the M2 SE to be truly effective, it is recommend to use double boosts in every race due to its large Tuning Kit bonus.
Other
The BMW M2 Special Edition is currently the best Class B car for TLEs, beating the long-time record holder Mercedes-AMG GT3, with a final top speed 1.7 km/h faster, noticeably better nitro duration, a better Tuning Kit bonus, and its non-Elite status allowing infinite use without having to tune the car up every few races. However, it is also slightly more expensive to upgrade than the AMG GT3.
Due to its superior performance, the BMW M2 Special Edition will dominate Class B TLE leaderboards. While the AMG GT3, Holden Coupe 60 and McLaren MP4/8 can still be used to reach the top 100, the M2 SE still has an edge over these cars.
The BMW M2 Special Edition is the second-best available vehicle in BMW-exclusive events, only behind the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage, a top-tier Class A car.
Price
The BMW M2 Special Edition can be assembled by collecting 70 of its Common-rarity Blueprints. Assembly takes 8 hours to complete, but can be skipped for up to 353. It costs 2,413,650 or 17,005 to MAX out. Pro Kits require 1,573,850, as well as 15 of each Class B part card, 12 each of Early and Initial Tech, 20 Mid-Tech and 8 i6 Engine cards.
