Summary
The BMW M2 Special Edition is a Class B car added in the Fall Out Boy Update, with the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 917
- MAX rank: 1442
- MAX+PRO rank: 1687
- Tuning Kit bonus: +75
The BMW M2 SE mainly rivals the Mercedes-AMG GT3, Ferrari GTC4Lusso and other top-end B Class cars.
Performance
The well rounded performance of the BMW M2 Special Edition makes it similar to a Class B version of either the Arrinera Hussarya GT or the Aston Martin Vulcan.
The M2 SE has mediocre acceleration that is slightly slower than some of its competition like the AMG GT3 and Holden Coupe 60. However, it is faster than certain cars too, like the GTC4Lusso.
The M2 SE's handling and drifting are very good and make it easy to control, with a precise drift radius that is very tight, but not enough to cause frequent oversteering (such as the case with the Vulcan).
The M2 SE's main advantage is its top speed, as the highest in B Class. Depending on the car, the M2 SE can go up to 10 km/h faster than other high-end B Class cars, e.g. the McLaren MP4/8.
Adding on to that, the M2 SE has excellent nitro durations of 6/10/15.
With the M2 SE's exceptional and balanced performance, it is to date the best B Class car, being able to clock extreme timings on all tracks.
Before its release, it was anticipated to beat, or at the least rival the AMG GT3, the B Class king since its release. As many noted, given their extremely similar performance, it all boiled down to the Tuning Kit bonus. Upon its release, the M2 SE triumphed the AMG GT3 in this aspect, which ultimately allowed it to surpass it.
Usage (Multiplayer)
Given the M2 Special Edition's large rank gap between its starting rank and MAX+PRO rank, the M2 Special Edition is a serious competitor in Multiplayer against various overpowered cars like the Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS and TVR Sagaris. The BMW M2 Special Edition's main rivals are the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition and Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition as the former has higher top speed while the latter is capable of similar performance at a significantly lower rank.
This car was very sought-after given how easy its unique new event was, in comparison to other special events, despite being fairly confusing for many players. Therefore, it is very popular now and it's common to encounter at least one other M2 Special Edition in the same race, so racing double boosted is recommended for a more competitive technique or even triple boosted for higher leagues.
TUNING
The BMW M2 Special Edition is best to be used at higher ranks, due to it able to compete with the Camaro and Aston Martin Vulcan. It is not as good at lower ranks due to the Audi R8 E-Tron Special Edition going faster at lower ranks.
Some tunes include 5505 5050 and 5505 5555 (Special thanks to Dr. Healusion for this tune). At these ranks the BMW M2 SE can compete with camaros, but the second tune is generally better unless you are running low on i6 engines. In order for this car to succeed is is recommend to at least double boost due to it's large TUNING kit bonus.
Usage (TLEs)
The BMW M2 Special Edition is the current best Class B car, beating the long-time record holder Mercedes-AMG GT3, with a final top speed 1.7 km/h faster, noticeably better nitro duration, raw top speed, and non-Elite status allowing infinite use. However, it is slightly more expensive to upgrade than the GT3.
Therefore, the M2 SE will dominate Class B TLEs. While the AMG GT3, Holden Coupe 60 and McLaren MP4/8 can still be used to reach the top 100, the M2 SE still has an edge over both.
The M2 is the 2nd best in BMW-exclusive events, only behind the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage, a top-tier Class A car.
Price
The BMW M2 Special Edition can be assembled by collecting 70 of its common rarity Blueprints. Assembly takes 8 hours to complete, but can be skipped for 353.
