Overview[]

The BXR Bailey Blade XT4 was added in the Alps Update as a Class S Muscle Car. It requires Class-S Blueprints 30 blueprints to unlock and has a starting rank of level 35. Oil changes take 2 hours to complete and cost Credits 276 per change.

The XT4 is based off of the real-life BXR Bailey Blade GT1, but has been transformed into an off-road variant by raising the suspension, replacing the tires with off-road wheels, placing spotlights on the roof, and a bulbar on the front bumper, and attaching a spare wheel on the rear window.

Performance[]

Prior to the Coachella Update, the XT4 was the 2nd highest ranked muscle car in the game, being just behind the Dodge Challenger SRT8. It was incredibly fast thanks to its incredible top speed, and although had a poor drift radius, was remedied by the ability to gain grip by going over bumps (a once universal feature of muscle cars that has been removed since the Coachella Update). However, on a similar note to many previous Class S vehicles such as the Subaru WRX STI GRC, and the Challenger SRT8, the XT4 recieved a massive nerf to its maximum level performance. As an unfortunate result for the XT4, it now has unremarkable acceleration, top speed and nitro, weak nitro power, as well as poor drift-boosting and air speed potential. The XT4's handling in particular took a massive hit, the drift radius is exceptionally poor, and the XT4's tendency to stop drifting while drift-boosting makes low-to medium speed cornering a very frustrating endeavor, although not to the same extent of the 1968 Chevrolet Camaro.

At level 50, the XT4 is severely outmatched by the 2017 Bass 770 and the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Touring Car 2016. Both alternatives are universally better than the XT4, so much so that the it can be multiple seconds off their pace. Straight-line oriented tracks such as Through the Avalanche, Off-Piste Race, and High Altitude where the XT4 is at its best, but is still overshadowed by a majority of cars in the game. Acceleration is not good enough even at maximum level to knockdown AI drivers at the start of races, meaning that the XT4 will also start off sluggishly compared to better muscle cars and rally cars, and it's mediocre long nitro top speed means that the gap will widen even more.

The XT4's long nitro top speed, while is higher than most rally cars and some muscle cars, is not high enough to come close to compensate for the huge downsides. The Gharial behaves quite similarly to the XT4, but has incredibly high top speed that does a better job to compensate for its flaws. Extra Tank Extra Tank is not as useful as it is with the Bass 770 and C 63, as the already horrible handling is worsen further, and becomes even more of a detriment to the XT4's performance. Due to its myriad of performance issues, it is highly not recommended to use the XT4 for multiplayer, since a plethora of cars like the C 63, Mini All4Racing X-Raid, and even the more situational Lynx DCC 2016-J are straight up better in almost every possible track, and competitive monster trucks like the Chevrolet Bel Air, and Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Monster could potentially knock the XT4 down due to its lackluster acceleration off the line. In terms of time-limited events usage, the only saving grace the XT4 has is its own reoccurring test drive and championship, meaning that maxing the XT4 is required if a driver wants to compete for the top spot in the test drive. Due to being a Class S vehicle, the XT4 will rarely show up in any other event, meaning it is really only useful for the one test drive event it has.

Even with its own test drive event, the XT4 is not recommended to max out to level 50. With a poor driving experience, and not offering a lot in terms of multiplayer, time-limited events, or performance, it is better to simply keep the XT4 at stock level in order to save up Class S tools for better vehicles.
