A8A Barrel Roll

Introduced in Asphalt 8: Airborne, a barrel roll is a type of aerial stunt in which a vehicle makes a complete rotation on both its longitudinal and lateral axes, causing it to follow a helical path, approximately maintaining its original direction. In the Asphalt series, barrel rolls are stunts and can be performed while going off a curved ramp.

Each barrel roll refills the nitro bar by 25% and awards Credits 5 at the end of the race for each successful roll. Performing more barrel rolls in one jump will award more credits.

If the player is using a Motorcycle, it will perform a Tilt Jump instead.

Overview[]

Barrel rolls are important in gameplay, as curved ramps appear on almost all tracks in the game. Depending on how the ramp is approached and depending on the car, the player can do either one barrel roll or multiple at once. Some uncurved ramps have enough room to allow for what is called a "forced barrel roll", where the car leaves the ramp on the corners (or in rare cases, while even just going off the ramp at a parallel angle to the direction of the ramp) and does a barrel roll even though the ramp's design suggests otherwise.
