A Blueprint is a game element introduced in Asphalt Street Storm Racing and brought over to Asphalt 8: Airborne, Asphalt Xtreme, and Asphalt 9: Legends. It gives the option of obtaining vehicles without directly purchasing them. Blueprints are cards that can be obtained in a variety of ways, though mostly from Boxes. Depending on which vehicle the blueprint is used for, one will have to acquire a certain number of blueprints, after which the player can assemble a vehicle from the blueprints for free, though a waiting period is imposed before the vehicle can be used.

Blueprints in Asphalt 9 are required to unlock and star up every car. When enough blueprints are collected, the car is unlocked at one star. To star the car up, more blueprints are required. Starring up cars allows more upgrades and Import Parts to be applied, and may also unlock more customization options such as custom colors and body parts.
The player can trade any blueprint they own at any time for Trade Coins, except for cars that have not yet been unlocked - this to prevent players from accidentally trading blueprints for cars in progress of unlocking. Once a car has been fully starred up, any further blueprints are automatically traded for Trade Coins.
The unlocking and star upgrading of every car occurs immediately. If a star up is postponed, the car cannot be used until the star upgrade is executed.
Card overview[]
There are 85 Blueprint vehicles in the game:
Some cars can only be obtained from events. There are several types of exclusive car events in Asphalt 9: Legends:
- Exclusive events: Runs for four days, one blueprint guaranteed per day by simply finishing (Rezvani and Cien) or winning the race (Force 1, NEMESIS and Egoista), depending on the car; additional blueprints (or car class-appropriate import parts) available by completing stipulations. These events were repeated every 2 weeks, but has since later changed. Cars available this way are Rezvani Beast X, Cadillac Cien Concept, VLF Force 1 V10, TRION NEMESIS, and Lamborghini Egoista.
- Unleashed: Runs for ten days, previously preceded by a series of seven-day countdown event where tokens can be collected each day (120 if repeatable four times or 150 if repeatable five times) in order to purchase a blueprint card pack for the car, accompanied with a seven-day contest for owners (originally available at second day of the Unleashed event, later run together with the Unleashed and Trial parts). Cars released this way include Acura NSX (2017), Lamborghini Aventador SV Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, Lamborghini Egoista, Porsche 918 Spyder, Pagani Huayra BC, and Ferrari J50.
- Encore events: After a while, Blueprint packs for Unleashed cars may go on sale again. The accompanying Encore event allows owners to obtain Blueprints again to improve their car or to obtain/upgrade another exclusive car. From the Porsche 918 Spyder/Pagani Huayra BC Encore event onwards, the Encore cars (always in pairs) can be driven even if it is not yet owned, with tuning (and thus fuel use) enabled; tunings are carried in case the car is obtained at a later date. Encore events has been mostly replaced with Car Hunts, as former event cars gradually become available in card packs.
- In February 2019 (the Aventador SV Unleashed re-run), the Countdown event was replaced with Trial, a two-week free trial of the car where several guaranteed Blueprints can be obtained along with tokens. Since then, all three stages of Unleashed events (Trial, Unleashed, Contest) run concurrently together.
- Special Event: Runs for two to four weeks (depending on the car) and contain a series of challenges (between 11 and 27) which, after being completed, grant blueprints for the car, as well as other rewards. Apart from the featured car, at least three more cars are involved in the event, which can sometimes be unreleased cars whose packs have to be bought with tokens. Some stages may require certain ranks and cannot be played if the player does not have a car above the requested rank. Cars released this way include:

- Grand Prix: Runs for one week or two, involves only one car (always with key) where the goal is to competitively play against other players. Consists of up to 3 qualifying stages, where the top 10 of selected 20 players are chosen, and up to 7 final rounds, where 20 qualified drivers set their fastest time to score points to get the highest reward, such as guaranteed key and a special decal.

In Asphalt Street Storm Racing, blueprints are needed to claim blueprint-only vehicles. Once the required number of blueprints is collected, the vehicles can be unlocked without waiting time.
Availability[]
Blueprints are mainly obtainable through Gift Boxes. Four blueprints can also be obtained as rewards from Seasonal Leagues:
- Aston Martin Vulcan Blueprint
- Ferrari 488 GTB Blueprint †
- Lamborghini Veneno Blueprint
- Viper ACR Blueprint
The game does not document any concept of rarity for blueprints, but they have different colors. Blueprints of the same color lie within certain sale value ranges (which can overlap), and they also have in common that they generally become rarer the higher the sale value. Besides, some boxes do not grant blueprints of a certain color. The table to the right lists drop rates and sale values for each rarity type, based on data from WikiProject Statistics (5,799 items from the 3 most common boxes since the last changes). All values are self-updating and may change with an increasing sample size.
The Renault Clio R.S. 220 Trophy EDC Blueprint is special insofar as it is the only blueprint of orange rarity and can only be obtained from Bronze Gift Boxes.
The drop rates in the rightmost column are weighted averages that take into account that players usually open different amounts of Bronze, Silver and Gold Gift Boxes. See Most common boxes for details.
The following blueprints are not listed in any of the box preview screens and are unavailable since the game development has been stopped. The only way to obtain the car would be winning it from another player in a Pink Slip.

Asphalt Xtreme[]
Card | Name |
---|---|
Class D | |
Class C | |
Class B | |
Class A | |
Class S |
Introduced in the Asphalt Xtreme Coachella Update, blueprints are required to obtain and upgrade every car, instead of being purchased. They are found in boxes, replacing the old car parts. The higher the car class, the rarer the blueprint will be.
The unlocking of a car upon completion of blueprints is immediate; however, upgrading a car with its blueprints takes time, except in Special Projects.
Blueprints cannot be sold or discarded in any manner; however, the Nepal Update introduced the Overclock booster which allows blueprints to be used in exchange for a temporary boost to a car's performance.
Availability[]
Blueprints are mainly obtainable randomly through Boxes, rewarded in Limited-Time Events or can be bought in the Black Market section when offered.
- The Lynx Mad Cat 2018 Turbo Blueprint is not granted by any Boxes but only offered on the Black Market from time to time, which makes the car expensive to obtain and upgrade.
- The Perlini 105F Red Tiger Blueprint is not granted by Boxes or offered on the Black Market since the car has been taken out of the game for new users. However, it is rewarded for certain Limited-Time Events. This enables players who had the car before the change to obtain blueprints for the Overclock booster.
- The only way to obtain Gharial Blueprints is the dedicated Boosted Box (Gharial).

Asphalt 8: Airborne[]
Introduced in the Car Blueprints Update and actively used until the Hot Wheels Update, after which most new vehicles reverted back to the old system of being obtainable only via completing its event, a maximum of 3 blueprints are purchasable at any time from Exclusive Deals or obtained randomly from Pro Boxes.
The blueprint depicts a car in front view with the left half of it (where the right headlight is) in a partial wireframe, similar to the promotional ads for the Research & Development events. Blueprints for motorcycles depict the vehicle from the right side with the left half (rear of vehicle) in the same partial wireframe.

As with any other card, Blueprints are distributed randomly, independent of whether a card is useful or not: for instance a BP card can be obtained, even if the player already has the vehicle.
When selecting a Blueprint vehicle in the garage, the top left corner of the screen gains a purple technological underlay, overriding the blue circuitry underlay used for Elite Cars. When the vehicle has finished assembling, the purple underlay disappears, and gets replaced with the circuitry underlay if the car is elite.
When a sufficient number of Blueprints have been obtained, the vehicle can be built for free, but a waiting period will be imposed unless Tokens are paid. The waiting period depends on the vehicle, its class and its BP card rarity (for instance, the Sbarro Sparta takes 16 rare BP cards to be assembled, after which 5 hours must pass until the car is ready to be used, while the McLaren F1 XP-5 needs 20 legendary BP cards and takes 11 hours to be assembled). Waiting periods range from as little as one hour up to 20 hours. During the waiting period, the wireframe pattern runs across the vehicle, even when viewing it in the Garage or accessing the "Coloring" or "View" tabs. The wireframe shows up as either hexagonal patterns or an actual wireframe that runs across the vehicle, including the interior (for some cars). Often, the vehicle gains a brighter color than normal when being assembled. When the vehicle has been completed, the garage will be briefly be covered in the purple technological pattern with new camera angles that differ from when a vehicle is obtained through a purchase or earning the vehicle from an R&D or Enduro Double Down.
Despite the relative difficulty of obtaining Blueprints, it is possible to obtain the blueprints for a vehicle that the player wants without the need of purchasable Blueprint boxes.
A feasible trick prior to the Motorcycles Update is to have a full pro kit inventory of at least 500 slots, and a lot of Super Racer Kit Boxes, Random Box 4s and Champion League Kit Boxes. Try to finish in the Champion League for at least 9 times, and DO NOT open the Champion League Boxes until you have 9 of them. Since relying on Champion League Boxes will take a very long time, while collecting the CLKBs, obtain as many Random Box 4s from Daily Tasks and TLEs. In the meantime, repeatedly purchase the SRKBs (with the inventory having no space to open the boxes) until the player has at least 52 SRKBs. After collecting a sufficient amount of SRKBs, RB4s and CLKBs, clear as much storage as possible (without selling any Engine Cards and wanted Blueprints), then select either box and press "Open X" for that box (with X for the number of boxes to open; try to have X= 52 for SRKBs, X= 100 for RB4s and X= 9 for CLKBs). Keep repeating the process for the SRKBs and RB4s until all blueprints for the vehicle that the player wants are obtained.
As of the Motorcycles Update, the above trick is now obsolete, since the Blueprints with Rare/Legendary rarity can be obtained from fusion boxes by fusing enough cards. Furthermore, as of the Munich Update, boxes granting the player a random blueprint can also be won from Events and later, Car Mastery.
If the player attempts to sell (now fuse as of the Motorcycles Update) a Blueprint card for a vehicle they don't have, the player will be asked for confirmation.
For a short time upon their introduction, special events gave BPs as rewards as the player progressed, meaning that it was not necessary to complete the event as long as enough BPs had been collected. However, as of the Hot Wheels Update, these events returned to the older formula, awarding the whole vehicle only after the entire event is completed. This includes reruns of previous events that did give BPs as rewards. If enough Blueprints for an Research & Development or Enduro Double Down vehicle are obtained, and the player begins assembly of the vehicle before completing the event, the event will end, locking out the player from other prizes they have not yet obtained. For Championship and World Tour vehicles, however, the player can continue competing for all prizes and trophies even if the vehicle was assembled prematurely.
As of the Car Blueprints Update, Blueprints have become the only way to unlock new vehicles released after it, with the sole exceptions being the Ferrari GTC4Lusso, Suzuki GSX-R750, Ducati Monster 1200 and MV Agusta F4 1000 R, available for 765,000, 30,000, 100,000 and 2,400, respectively. Any vehicle that is not BP-buildable disappears and becomes unavailable once its event ends. Furthermore, prior to the aforementioned update, previous credit/token cars may be changed to BP cars with the release of new updates, without warning (this practice has been stopped as of the Hot Wheels Update).
As of the Asphalt Moments Update, Blueprint cars have ceased to be added to the game, meaning that every vehicle must be unlocked from its event. The only exceptions to this are the McLaren 720S and the aforementioned Agusta. The Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition was also turned into a Blueprint car in the Fifth Anniversary Update.
[]
However, starting from December 26th, 2018 with the changes to Exclusive Deals, many Blueprint cars were also made unavailable to obtain outside of their events. As such, all accumulated Blueprints for any of these cars have been rendered useless. 24 cars were affected:
Apart from special events, the only boxes that currently contain these Blueprints are certain time-limited offer boxes that grant one Blueprint for the specific vehicle. The sole exception to this was the Lamborghini Egoista, given that players can still get Blueprints by watching ads (albeit very rarely); this feature was removed by May 30th, 2019.
In addition, the Holden Coupe 60's blueprint status was removed as of the 2019 Spring Update, with the Holden itself being removed from the garage for users who don't own it yet.
The blueprints for the aforementioned 24 vehicles are available again as of the Showdown Update. However, they are purchasable only for tokens in the Exclusive Deals section, and their prices have been doubled.
Blueprints started leaving the game since the Showdown Update. As of the 2019 Holiday Update, Blueprints no longer exist in the game.
Card overview[]
There were 63 Blueprint vehicles in the game before 2019 Holiday Update.

Note: The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR was originially supposed to be unlockable with Blueprints. However, this was changed in the Fifth Anniversary Update to be an event only vehicle.
