The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car, also known as the Cadillac CTS-V.R or the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe GT, is a second generation Cadillac CTS-V Coupe-based race car.
Overview
The Cadillac CTS-V.R is raced in the SCCA World Challenge Series. The first generation CTS-V sedan competed from 2004-2007, winning the manufacturer's championship in 2005 and 2007. Starting in 2011, the second generation V competed as a coupe, winning Cadillac back-to-back manufacturer's championships in 2012 and 2013. The 2011 coupe race car was built by Pratt & Miller.
The Cadillac CTS-V.R is powered by the same 6.2L (6,162 cc) supercharged LSA V8 as the regular CTS-V, with power rated at 556 hp (415 kW)
Asphalt 7: Heat
The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car is a Tier 5 car. It is the prize of Career Cup 5 and costs 150,000 Cash.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
The Cadillac CTS-V.R, now renamed to Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car for unknown reasons, appears as the first of the nine original Class A cars.
It is one of five Cadillac cars in Asphalt 8: Airborne, with generally superior performance to three of its relatives, but inferior performance to the rare Cadillac 16 Concept.
The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car has a starting rank of 1288, a MAX rank of 1454, a PRO rank of 1368, and a final rank of 1534. It receives a moderate Tuning Kit bonus of +39.
Performance
The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car shares many features of the DS Survolt. Like the Class B car, the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car has the best nitro duration (5/10/15) and acceleration stats of the early cars in its class, in addition to being the cheapest car in the class. The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car also has good drifting and handling, unlike other cars of Class A, such as the Chevrolet Corvette C7. Like the DS Survolt, the main drawback of the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car is a low top speed, although this is to be expected, due to its low position in the class.
Out of the Cadillac cars in Asphalt 8: Airborne, the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is far from the best; rather, it competes for the place of second best. Compared to the Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, with an Elite Tuning of -4+4-4+4 (0808), the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car is 1.3 km/h slower. However, it easily makes up for this with superior nitro-efficiency, acceleration and handling, as well as a slightly better drifting stat. In any Cadillac event, the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car would certainly be the better choice, as the price is also far lower. The two Cadillac cars from Class D perform far worse.
Compared to other cars in its class, the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car can only compete with cars as far up as the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X, as its top speed cannot compare further up.
Usage
The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car is often regarded as the "smart" starter's car for Class A, with the inferior but often chosen choice being the Ford 2006 GT, with its low purchase price deceiving new players into the trap which is its extremely dear upgrade prices.
Due to the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car's low position in the class, however, it is not recommended that new players upgrade its PRO levels further than 2222. As every car in Class A uses Mid-Techs, it is more advisable that these Mid-Techs be saved for a higher-levelled Class A car, such as the Chevrolet Corvette C7, which uses the same amount of Mid-Techs but is faster.
The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car, being a good starter's car, is useful for completing the Class A components of Career Mode, as well as being useful for completing its own event and a Cadillac-specific event.
The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car contributes to the collections Cadillac, U.S. Monsters, New World Glory, and Track Fiends. Mastery level 10 gives a free Class A upgrade.
Price
Originally purchasable for 26,500, 45,000, then 60,000, the CTS-V Coupe Race Car costs 72,000 to purchase (as of the Motorcycles Update). Maxing it out costs 455,500, while Pro Kits require 115,081, 4 of each Class A Parts card, 2 Initial Tech cards, 2 Early Tech cards, and 8 Mid-Tech cards.
Asphalt Nitro
The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car appears as a top-end Class C car.
