Championship/2018 McLaren X2

The 2018 McLaren X2 Championship was released as part of the Asphalt Moments Update and held on the following dates:

• As the 24th Championship on June 28, 2018.
• As the 37th Championship in the Halloween Update on November 22, 2018.
• As the 43rd Championship in the Fast Lane Update on March 8, 2019.
• As the 53rd Championship in the Showdown Update on August 8, 2019.

Players are given 10 days to complete the event. Unlike other championships, this event has a tire refill duration of 12 hours instead of the standard 8 hours. The locations will unlock in the following schedule:

• Barcelona: 12 hours later or pay  200
• Patagonia: 1 day 12 hours later or pay  700
• Azure Coast: 2 days 12 hours later or pay  1,150
• Iceland: 3 days 12 hours later or pay  1,600
• Venice: 5 days later or pay  2,200
• Rio de Janeiro: 6 days 12 hours later or pay  2,500
• Tokyo: 8 days later or pay  2,600

However, it is not recommended to buy Mini Boxes if a player is aiming at Custom Racing Engines.

• The chance of getting a Custom Racing Engine from a box is 8.835 %.
• Even if a player buys 10 Mini Boxes for a sum of  2,750, the chance of getting at least 1 Custom Racing Engine is only 60.34 %.
• A player would have to buy 25 boxes for  6,875 to get 1 Custom Racing Engine with a certainty of 90 %.

Tips / Warnings

• The minimum upgrade configuration required to complete all Grand Finales and Main Goals is 7/0/10/0. This requires 37 Custom Racing Engines and  644,150.
  • As this Championship gives out at least 28 Custom Racing Engines, the player must obtain 9 more by other means (as of the Fast Lane Update).
  • Up to 18 Custom Racing Engines will be awarded from Championship boxes up to 110 trophies, so if the player chooses to only complete all Main Goals and Grand Finales, they must acquire at least 19 more through other means.

• As this Championship event is based on the event for the McLaren MP4-31, many of the same tips and warnings for that event apply here, including skidding problems (noticeable in the first race in French Guiana).
  • The Halloween Update provided stability upgrades to various cars, including the X2, which then makes the X2 less prone to skidding.
