The Chasing Stars Event (Star Hunt) was a Prop Hunt event for Asphalt 8: Airborne as part of the 2024 Christmas Update. It was held on the following dates:
- December 6, 2024 - January 3, 2025
Description[]
The objective of the event is to collect rewards by choosing a featured reward on a board of 24 total in exchange for Stars.
There are a total of 18 rewards on each board. The number of Stars required for each draw are 9.
Players receive 2 free Stars (increased to 5 between December 23 - 25, 2024) per day. Additional Stars can be obtained by the following methods:
- buying for
65 (for 8 Stars (increased to 12 between December 23 - 25, 2024), with a purchase limit of 1) - buying for 5 (for 20 Stars, with a purchase limit of 1)
- buying various in-app purchase bundles in the Festive Shop section in the Shop menu (either with Vouchers or with real money)
- earning by watching ads (limited to 5 per day (increased to 8 between December 23 - 25, 2024))
- collecting in the dedicated Time-limited events (if the player exceeded the amount of Stars that can be obtained per day, this option is greyed out).
There are a total of 2 Time-limited events, each event was available for 12 days. In these events, Stars would appear on the track, and were collected by catching up and collecting them (after a certain amount seconds, the stars would disappear). After the race ended, the player was offered a chance to watch an ad to increase the number of Stars collected by 1. Only one ad could be watched after each race, and after the player watched 5 ads per day (increased to 8 between December 23, 2024 - January 3, 2025), the option would no longer be offered.
There are a total of 4 rows called "Base Section", "Lower Section", "Upper Section", "Top Section" in the rewards board with a number of rewards of 6, 5, 4 and 3, respectively. In order to advance to the next row, the player needs to obtain the Grand Prize located in the left-most corner of each row (except the top row, where it is any of the 3 rewards)
There are 2 Stages in this event: Stage 1 (December 6 - 20, 2024) and Stage 2 (December 20, 2024 - January 3, 2025)
After 7 days the board would reset to a new board with different rewards.
After the end of Stage 1, any rewards that the player hasn't claimed on the Wishing Top-Up board are lost
After 12 days, the Time-limited events course would also change.
After the conclusion of Stage 2, if the player has leftover Stars when the event ends, the Stars will be nulled and cannot be used in future events. Any rewards that the player hasn't claimed on the Wishing Top-Up board are lost. Players can claim the rewards corresponding to the percentage of the total amount of times they made a wish in the event in the leaderboard.
