Description[]
- Text originally from the Chevrolet Corvette's Wikipedia article.
The Corvette C7 ZR1 was unveiled at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show for the 2019 model year. The ZR1 is heavily based on the Z06 platform with many noticeable changes, including the all-new 6.2 L; 376.0 cu in (6,162 cc) pushrod LT5 V8 engine equipped with a 2.6 L (0.6 imp gal; 0.7 US gal) Eaton supercharger that is 52% larger than that of the Z06 along with a new fuel injection system. The new engine produces 755 hp (765 PS; 563 kW) at 6,300 rpm and 715 lb⋅ft (969 N⋅m) of torque at 4,400 rpm. The ZR1 also includes an improved engine cooling system with large cooling vents in the front bumpers vents on the hood and a larger intercooler. The cooling system also adds four more radiators bringing the total count to thirteen. Due to the large supercharger and intercooler, an opening is made in the hood but is concealed by making the intercooler cover in such a way that it looks like a part of the hood.
The ZR1's aero package has been developed in collaboration with Pratt & Miller's Corvette racing team in wind tunnels which includes a large rear wing bolted directly on the chassis, a front splitter and a new front underbody spoiler in order to balance out the excess drag. A fixed wing was added after the engineers at Corvette Racing discovered that an active rear wing serves no more than an aesthetic purpose. Other changes include an active exhaust system and an upgraded crankshaft, all of which help propel the car to a top speed of 214.88 mph (345.82 km/h) with the low rear wing. The optional aero package available for the ZR1 is the ZTK performance package which adds a higher fixed rear wing with five degrees of adjustment levels and generates 60% more downforce than the Z06 with the Z07 package but also reduces top speed due to aerodynamic drag, the ZTK performance package also adds a new carbon fiber front splitter end caps for added downforce. With the combination of the high rear wing and front underbody spoiler, the ZR1 produces 950 lb (430.9 kg) of downforce at top speed.
The ZR1 is also fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires instead of the standard Michelin Super Sport tires in the ZTK performance package and specific chassis and magnetic ride control settings for better cornering. Besides the extensive use of carbon fiber, the ZR1 is heavier than the Z06 at 3,560 lb (1,614.8 kg) due to added fluids for the cooling system. The ZR1 is available with a 7-speed Tremec TR-6070 manual transmission with rev-matching technology or an 8-speed GM 8L90 automatic transmission with paddle shifters which are the same as those found in the Z06. The ZR1 comes with larger tires and wheels, carbon ceramic brakes, double wishbone suspension system and magnetic ride control system as standard with optional brake caliper colors and wheels. The interior includes Nappa leather upholstery, heated seats, carbon fiber rimmed steering wheel and Bose sound system as standard with a variety of performance and comfort options available. The ZR1 became available from sale from Spring 2018.
A convertible version of the ZR1 was revealed at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. Performance figures remain the same as the coupé but the convertible weighs 60 lb (27 kg) more than its coupé counterpart due to structural reinforcing components.
Asphalt 9: Legends[]
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 was added in the Godly Beasts Update as a mid Class A car with the following rank statistics:
- Stock rank: 2,672 ( 50)
- rank: 2,811
- rank: 3,000 ( 23)
- rank: 3,232 ( 27)
- rank: 3,540 ( 36)
- rank: 3,876 ( 51)
Performance[]
The Corvette ZR1 features good top speed, quick acceleration, and good handling and nitro efficiency. It is a well-rounded car and can compete with other mid Class A cars like the Lamborghini Aventador J and Porsche 918 Spyder. However, against faster cars like the VLF Force 1 V10 and the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, the ZR1 will struggle due to its lower speed.
Usage[]
The Corvette ZR1 was used in the Rimac C_Two's Drive Syndicate Event as the top Class A car. It is needed for the Stalwart Monkey tier of the event.
Between the Grand Prix Update and April 23, 2021, blueprints for the Corvette ZR1 could be obtained from Platinum and Legend Packs.
Completing Race 10 of the Tradition Meets Future season in Chapter 05 of Career Mode requires the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 to be unlocked and have nearly all its upgrades applied. Due to the restructuring of Career Mode seasons during the British Tour Season Update, completing this race is a requirement to unlock all Career Mode seasons after Tradition Meets Future, including all Chapter 06 seasons, giving the ZR1 a solid but niche role in Career Mode.
Asphalt 8: Airborne[]
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 was added in the Seventh Anniversary Update as a high Class A Car with the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 1467
- PRO rank: 1772
- Tuning Kit bonus: +53
- Nitro Efficiency: 7/12/15
Performance[]
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 features a high maximum top speed for Class A of 300.4 mph (483.8 km/h), extremely fast acceleration, good handling, a sharp drifting radius, and moderately good nitro efficiency. The Corvette ZR1, as a Festival car, has very poor performance in respect to its rank until it reaches the full-PRO upgrade level.
The Corvette ZR1 has superb or decent performance in all areas. Overall, its performance places it as the among the best cars in Class A by a narrow margin, competing against cars such as Lotus Evija, Ferrari SF90 Stradale, Italdesign Zerouno, McLaren Mercedes MP4-25, Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, and Chevrolet Camaro SS Independence Edition ranked A1767–A1773.
The Corvette ZR1 has the third-fastest acceleration for Class A, taking 2.4 seconds to accelerate to its maximum top speed from a standstill at full-PRO with a Tuning Kit and Nitro Starter. Only the Chevrolet Camaro Independece Edition and Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport have faster acceleration, at 2.21 and 2.276 seconds respectively to reach top speed.
The Corvette ZR1 is on the lower end of Class A kings when it comes to nitro efficiency. The MP4-25 has slightly worse nitro efficiency than the Corvette ZR1. The Veyron has slightly better nitro efficiency than the Corvette ZR1. The Zerouno has better perfect/level 2 nitro efficiency but slightly worse level 3 nitro efficiency. The SF90 Stradale has better perfect/level 2 nitro efficiency and slightly better level 3 nitro efficiency. The Evija has much better perfect/level 2 nitro efficiency and slightly better level 3 nitro efficiency.
Overall, among the Class A kings, the Corvette ZR1 can be considered the second-best after the Evija, though all of these cars have fairly similar performance and can be used interchangeably.
Usage[]
The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is the best Chevrolet vehicle in the game in terms of overall performance, so it is the top choice for Chevrolet-exclusive events. Currently, such events can be found in Career Mode. One Chevrolet car is ranked significantly higher than the Corvette ZR1; the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport at A1797 however, it has much worse acceleration, handling and drifting than the Corvette ZR1.
With the Corvette Grand Sport's rebalancing to B1590 in the Hot Winter Season Update, it is now the best Chevrolet model in the game, alongside the Chevrolet Camaro SS Independence Edition.
