The Citroën DS3 Racing (also known as DS Automobiles DS3 Racing), is a limited-production, high-performance version of the Citroën DS3.
A 204 hp (152 kW) version of the DS 3, the DS 3 Racing, was introduced at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. It is the road version of Citroën's rally specification DS3 R3. The new 0-60 mph time is 6.3 seconds and the increased top speed is 146 mph (236 km/h).
The DS 3 Racing is offered in only two colours, Polar White with Carbon Grey trim accents or Obsidian Black with Vibrant Orange accents including roof, wheels and interior. Besides these unique colour schemes, the DS 3 Racing is distinguished from other trim levels by the use of real carbon fibre on the front splitter, grill, wheel arches and rear diffuser. Additionally, carbon fibre is prominently featured on the interior.
In October 2011, Citroën announced that they were planning on building a total of 2,400 DS 3 Racing units, significantly more than the 1,000 initially planned.
Later shortened to DS 3 Racing, it appears as a mid Turf 1 car. It was only obtainable from a special event and has a x2 bonus for Takedown scores.
Added in the Santa's Gift Update and shortened just to DS 3 Racing, the Citroën DS 3 Racing is a mid Class D car with the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 828
- This was changed to 972 in the Showdown Update.
- MAX rank: 1119 (+291)
- This was changed to 1160 (+188) in the Showdown Update.
- MAX+PRO rank: 1289 (+170)
- This was changed to 1285 (+125) in the Showdown Update.
- Tuning Kit bonus: +61
- This was changed to +45 in the Showdown Update.
- Upgrade rank percentages: 10/60/10/20
- Nitro Efficiency: 6/12/16
The DS 3 Racing specializes in acceleration and drifting. While it can otherwise be described as being well-balanced in all performance aspects, the DS 3 accelerates much more quickly than other cars in its class. Due to its high acceleration rating, combined with its above average performance in other respects, the DS 3 is potentially useful in multiplayer races and Events. It is worth noting that Events involving mid-end Class D cars almost always feature the DS 3 as the dominant car.
The DS 3 Racing was purchasable for 105,000 prior to the Motorcycles Update; it was then obtainable only through the Assembly system. 12 of its Common-rarity Blueprints were needed to assemble it. The assembly time was 2 hours but could be skipped for 195. The DS 3 Racing's BP cards were given out as a Daily Bonus prize if the player logged in for at least 25 days in September 2017 and May 2018.
As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades cost 342,000 and Pro Kits require 113,600,15 of each Class D part, 10 Early & Initial Techs each, and 8 i4 Engines.
As of the Showdown Update, the car no longer requires Blueprints to be assembled and now costs 300.
The DS 3 Racing is part of the 26th and 27th Multiplayer Seasons, Heatwave Season and Fall Flash Season 2 respectively, as an Amateur League reward. Players who already had the DS 3 Racing will win 10,000 instead.
