Classic, also known as Normal Race, is a race type in the Asphalt series. It is the most common race type in each of the games it appears in.
Overview
Classic is the usual race mode, where the player races against a number of other racers (usually 5 or 7. In Quick Solo Race, the number of racers is always 8 but 24 in Metal Events) and tries to cross the finish line first. Classic is the most popular game mode in the Online World Series, and is the most popular game mode in time-limited events.
Traffic is present whenever the race has 6 racers or less, and is usually disabled when there are 8 racers (traffic is always disabled on French Guiana and Sector 8, regardless of the number of racers). A few exceptions to this rule include all Career mode Classic races in Dubai. As of Championship Update, traffic is also disabled in London and Iceland.
Winning + Stars
Classic events grant 3 stars to the 1st-place racer, 2 stars to the 2nd-place racer, and 1 star to the 3rd-place racer. Additionally, there are two bonus stars. Most are simple, while the rest are difficult to obtain.
Races 36 and 39 of Season 8 are notorious for setting up Gate Drift-like objectives in a Classic race, with total drift distances as high as 8500 yd and the other objective of No Wrecks.
While a consolation prize is awarded for failing to obtain a podium position, taking an excessive amount of time to reach the finish line after another racer wins will result in disqualification.
Achievement
Winning a Classic event in Asphalt 8: Airborne and Asphalt Nitro for the first time unlocks the Classic Win achievement.
