The Coachella Update (v1.4.0) is the fourth update of Asphalt Xtreme and was released on May 3, 2017, for iOS.[1]

Game Changes[]
- New location added: Coachella Valley.
- All vehicles now require Blueprints to be built and upgraded.
- Unlike Asphalt 8: Airborne, building a vehicle is instantly done with no waiting period or
cost.

- Upgrades and vehicle rating are now based on levels.
- Fully upgraded vehicles now have the "MAX" icon. This icon is reused from Asphalt 8: Airborne
- Players who had sufficiently upgraded vehicles prior to the update will be set to MAX.
- The prices for all upgrades have been reduced.
- Upgrades now also have a waiting period before it is installed.
- Oil level and changes are no longer accessible when an upgrade is being installed and vice versa.
- An oil change for all vehicles now cost
200 - The Garage icon in the main menu now shows a grid of all vehicles by either category (Class or Type)
- Vehicle type now lists Rally Cars as first followed by Buggies
- Upgrade cards have been significantly reduced down to just 2 types: Performance Class Tools and Vehicle Blueprints.
- Decals for locked vehicles are now viewable outside of Free Ride Events.
- The ticket cost for Free Ride and Clash events have been reduced to 2 from the original 4.
- The rewards for Solo Challenge events have been reduced to 3 from the original 6.
- Mastery races are now horizontally scrolled through instead of vertically.
- Mastery is also no longer part of the Career screen and is only accessible by the garage.
- All of the Mastery unlocked decals are now obtainable.
- Higher Tier vehicles now have more than 15 challenges.
- Career seasons are now in a single list and require Performance Class and Vehicle Level instead of specific model(s).
- Career mode has also been significantly shortened down to a total of 300 races and 900 stars.
- Pro Boxes have been renamed to: Iron, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
- The number of card drops for each box has been reduced but are now also cheaper to purchase.
- Iron box, which replaces the previous 4 hour box is now also purchasable for
7,500. - Opening a box now plays a new sound effect.
- All cards now show their performance class type on the back.
- Purchasing boxes will give points for permanent increases in the power value of all 4 box types for an increased chance of obtaining certain cards. Purchasing more expensive boxes grants more points.
- New loading screen: A Suzuki SX-4 S-Cross on Coachella Valley
- Claiming the rewards for each race now shows the bonus star requirement underneath the reward
- Oil usage has been reduced

- The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X's Special Projects event was revived, featuring all new challenges.
- For players who starts playing from this update onwards, the starter car was changed to Ford Focus RS, in place of Land Rover Defender.

Trivia[]
- Along with the Alps Update and Black Market Update, the Windows version of Asphalt Xtreme would only receive updates at a significantly later date.
- The Alps and Coachella Updates would also be bundled together.
- In the Windows version of Asphalt Xtreme, there is a glitch where the pro box button will show the "Free Box!" banner even if a free box is currently not available when opening the game. This gets fixed after a few seconds.
- The Windows version of Asphalt Xtreme also has a bug where all sponsor decals disappears from all cars. This was fixed in the Black Market, Nepal, and Porsche Update bundles.
