The Russian equivalent of "Waiting for other players" ("Ожидание игроков") written in Cuprum Bold, alongside the track name in (Latin) Monkirta Pursuit. Track names are rendered as 3D objects, not as text; this is the reason why they are never translated.
Cuprum Bold is a member of the Cuprum font family by Jovanny Lemonad (Russian: Джованни Лемонад). It is a narrow sans serif and replaces Accidental Presidency as the main font in the Russian languange version of Asphalt 8: Airborne and Asphalt Overdrive. It also replaces Asphalt Offroad in the Russian languange version of Asphalt Xtreme.
Contrary to Accidental Presidency, Cuprum offers more varieties. It comes as regular, regular italic, bold and bold italic and has extended Latin, Cyrillic and Vietnamese character subsets. It also has a clearer letter spacing than Accidental Presidency, and the letters themselves are a bit wider.
Usage[]
In Asphalt 8, only the bold font weight of Cuprum is used as it comes close to the semi-bold Accidental Presidency. Cuprum also replaces Monkirta Pursuit NC, the secondary font for on-screen displays during races, because Monkirta Pursuit has no Cyrillic characters either. This makes Cuprum Bold the only font used in the Russian game version.
Font size[]
As Russian does not have narrow "single-stroke" letters like the Latin i (и), l (л), f (ф), r (р), t (т) or j (й), Russian words are automatically longer, even if it is a letter-by-letter translation like "нитро" for "nitro". Therefore the game renders all Cyrillic text smaller by default which makes it often difficult to read, especially when translations of English terms require more words in Russian so that the text size is even more decreased to fit in buttons and text fields.

Spacing and shadow[]
Cuprum already has a well-defined letter spacing. But as the longer Russian translations often require extremely small font sizes, and to stay consistent with the general design, the game almost always adds a shadow to increase contrast and readability like for the Latin font. The only exceptions are buttons and menu bars with a naturally high contrast, like dark blue letters on white background.
