All currencies and level indicators in Asphalt Overdrive are displayed with the value preceding the icon, for example 1,000 Bills instead of Bills 1,000 like in most other Asphalt games.

Bills are the basic currency of Asphalt Overdrive. Although they show a Dollar sign, they are always called just Bills.

Bills are the only basic currency in the Asphalt games that can be directly bought with a premium currency (→Gold) at official exchange rates. The rates vary depending on the size of the bought pack.

Gold is the premium currency of Asphalt Overdrive. It is the only premium currency in the Asphalt games that can be directly sold for a basic currency (→Bills) at official exchange rates. The rates vary depending on the size of the bought pack.

  • Unit: Gold Gold
  • Description: "A highly valuable and rare reward earned by completing difficult achievements, events and missions. It can also be purchased in the store and can be exchanged for helpful Boosts or Bills." [1]
  • Spending:
    • Entry fee for second boss races that reward a car (varies, 20 Gold for Turf 1)
    • Boosters: 5 Gold
    • Skip waiting time during upgrades (1 m = 1 Gold, less for longer waiting times)
    • Skip waiting time for automatic →Energy refill (1 Energy = 3 Gold)
    • Custom license plate: 5 Gold
    • Change car color: 5 Gold
    • Upgrades (if not →Bills only; buying upgrades with Gold is generally not recommended)

  • Description: "Energy is used to run Asphalt Overdrive missions. If you're out of energy, you'll have to wait until it's recovered to run a mission. You can use that time to crack open a book or take a walk outide! OR you can also take a shortcut and buy your energy. [...]" [2]
  • Cap: The Energy bar has a maximum capacity of 10 Energy.
  • Spending:
    • Entry fee for missions. Cost per race: 1 Energy, first-time boss races: 2 Energy.
  • Earning:
    • Automatic: 1 Energy every 18 minutes
  • Buying:
    • Gold Gold: Varying price for a complete refill of all Energy units, depending on how many Energy units are missing.
  • Exchange rates:
    • Buy: 1 Energy = 3 Gold. The Gold price is calculated based on the missing Energy units, not on the time left for a refill, so it is a discrete function jumping at every next Energy unit.
