The DS Automobiles E-TENSE is an electric sports car serving as the successor to the Survolt.
The DS E-TENSE is an all-electric concept sports car built by DS Automobiles, Citroen's sub-unit. The car defines what the future of sports cars would look like. The E-TENSE is the successor of the Survolt.
The model was first conceived in 2016, as a competitor to Audi's R8 e-Tron. The car is built around a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, above where the lithium-ion batteries lie. Two electric Siemens motors power the car, giving it 401 hp and 391 foot-pounds of torque, a top speed of 249 kmph (155 mph) and an electric range of 360 kilometers (223 miles) on a single charge.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
The DS E-TENSE was added in the 2020 Spring Update as a high-end Class D car with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 1125
- Hidden MAX rank: ? (+?)
- PRO rank: 1342 (+?)
- Tuning Kit bonus: +40
- Stock to MAX+PRO rank difference: 217
- Nitro Efficiency: 5/10/15
At stock, the DS E-TENSE has slow acceleration, low top speed, weak handling with sluggish responsiveness, an excellent nitro efficiency, and an average drifting radius.
At PRO, the DS E-TENSE has a total top speed of 365.7 km/h / 227.1 mph with a Tuning Kit.
The DS-E-Tense is obtainable by reaching Tier 8 in its Festival. If viewed in the Tag Racing car selection menu, it will show a price of 1,850, however, the option to buy the car is unavailable.
The E-Tense could be obtained during its Festival Special between May 5-8, 2020 as a reward for claiming 5 spins. Players who already own the car would receive 2 kit cards instead.
Asphalt 9: Legends
The E-Tense appears as a mid Class D car with the following rank statistics:
The DS E-Tense has quick acceleration, responsive handling, and efficient nitro with average top speed being the only drawback. When upgraded to 3*, the E-Tense is an excellent option for Class D races. For beginner players, this car is dominant in most situations and, if driven well on the right track, can beat many higher-ranked cars. It is one of the easiest early-game cars to drive.
In Bronze and Silver league races, the E-TENSE is an excellent option for technical tracks such as Rome and The Caribbean. Its low top speed means that the Chevrolet Camaro LT, Ford Shelby GT350R, TVR Griffith, Dodge Challenger 392 Hemi Scat Pack, and Mazda Furai can compete with the E-TENSE and their acceleration and/or handling are comparable enough to maintain their higher top speed.
