The DeLorean DMC-12 (commonly referred to simply as the DeLorean as it was the only model ever produced by the company) is an American sports car manufactured by John DeLorean's DeLorean Motor Company for the American market from 1981–83. The car features gull-wing doors, and an innovative fiberglass chassis and underbody structure, along with a brushed stainless steel body. The car became widely known and iconic for its appearance as the "DeLorean time machine" in the Back to the Future trilogy.

Overview[]
Originally the highest ranked monster truck in the game, the DeLorean DMC-12 was a low Class S monster truck that is now mid Class S as of the Coachella Update. The DMC-12 was initially not unlockable until its debut, from then on it had the 5th highest credits purchasing price at 1,525,000 (Being lower than the Volkswagen Beetle GRC, Peugeot Hoggar Concept, Dodge Challenger SRT8, and RAM 1500 Rebel). Prior to the Coachella Update the DeLorean was the fastest monster truck available, albeit difficult to control due to its poor handling.
As of the Coachella Update, the DeLorean cannot be unlocked by credits, but is instead unlocked through getting 30 of its blueprints. Despite its level 30 starting rank putting the DMC-12 in mid Class S, the DeLorean needs 3 hours to change oil, charging 250 for each. In game, the DeLorean is heavily modified in order to retrofit it to a monster truck frame. The body itself features extreme, arguably excessive modifications, such as reinforced windows that severely limit visibility, fog lights attached on the roof line, a completely covered rear window, and no mirrors. Most noticeably, 2 comically large boost apparatuses are attached to the rear, almost completely covering the tail lights and rear window. The boost system resembles massive jet engines which is further supported by one of the DMC-12's liveries having a "BEWARE JET BLAST" warning on the rear bumper.
Performance[]
Originally as the fastest monster truck in the game, the DeLorean DMC 12's maximum performance has been greatly nerfed, and is considered to be one of the slowest monster trucks in the entire game. Overall, the DMC 12's performance stats are subpar for its archetype, with low top speed, very poor acceleration, a very wide drift radius, and weak nitro power and airspeed capabilities. With overall subpar stats, this puts the DMC-12 behind the likes of even the Hummer H1 and Ford 3-Window Coupé (1+ seconds per lap slower), and much further behind (4+ seconds per lap slower) the archetype leading Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Monster.
The DMC-12 can be upgraded to max rank without any rank up tools, but its performance issues still remain. The acceleration is somewhat useable and can allow some airspeed to be gained from jumps. Ultimately however, the acceleration can still severely hamper the DMC-12, particularly in the cases where it prevents the player from reaching an AI driver at the start of a race to knockdown for more boost. Top speed is also lower than even the 3-Window Coupé and the H1. The DMC-12 is obviously not a favorable choice in multiplayer, as its slow acceleration results in weak knockdown potential at the start of races, an essential thing a monster truck needs to do in order to get ahead of the pack. This also doesn't consider the other stats that hamper the DMC-12 ability to keep the lead should it ever get a successful start.
Speed Modifier Approximation[]
* when using the Land Rover Defender as 100 % benchmark
With the worst speed modifier of the monster trucks, the displayed top speeds may trick players into thinking the DeLorean DMC-12 has high top speeds. The reality is that the DMC-12's top speed is very low. Even with the aid of boosters, the DMC-12 still lags behind the H1 and 3-Window Coupé, and is completely useless when compared to the best monster trucks.
Outside of Solo Challenges, the DMC-12 is never used for any other time-limited event and its usability is solely restricted to multiplayer and career races. Even if it was always available for TLEs, it would be a very poor choice because of much better options being available.
Overall, what used to be the best monster truck in the game is now the worst one in terms of performance. It is therefore not recommended to max out the DeLorean DMC-12, if one is only interested in OC performance, the Hummer H1 is the best option, if they are instead looking for the fastest unboosted monster truck, the Silverado 2500 HD Monster is the best choice, and if they are looking for a monster truck for multiplayer, the Chevrolet Bel Air and possibly the Chevrolet El Camino 1980 will be much more suitable.

Career[]
The DeLorean DMC-12 is required for a Star goal in the following career race:
- Race 294 (Class S, levels 47–50)
- Recommended level: 49
Asphalt Overdrive[]
The DeLorean DMC-12 appears as a mid Turf 2 car and is the first boss car the player encounters. It is driven by Ricky Chang in the mission New Kid in Town. It can then be unlocked by paying 20 for the pink slip race with the boss. It has the first and second restriction races in Episode 2, a getaway and stunt race, the latter being a good event for farming cash. It has a 50% bonus on League Points.
Asphalt 7: Heat[]
The DeLorean DMC-12 is a Tier 1 car, requiring 60 stars to be unlocked. It requires 65,000 cash to be bought and can be lent for 12,500 cash.
The DeLorean DMC-12 is the slowest accelerating car in the game. It is the only car with an acceleration slower than 10 seconds, and for this reason, the powerful and efficient nitro cannot negate this. The DMC-12's top speed is also abhorrent; it is the slowest in the game. While the DMC-12 has average handling, it still handles better than other cars with this set of stats (e.g Shelby GT500). However, the nitro power and efficiency is the strongest point of the DMC-12; the nitro efficiency and power of the DMC-12 is the second best in Tier 1, only inferior to the Tesla Roadster (which requires 380 stars).
The DMC-12 works best with Career Mode, where it can be used as an alternative to the Tesla Roadster between the DMC-12's unlock (at 60 stars), and the unlock of the Roadster, as 320 more stars have to be collected before the Roadster is available for purchase. It competes with the Shelby GT500 Eleanor in this role; compared to the Eleanor, the DMC-12 has worse acceleration, slightly superior nitro speed, significantly inferior base speed, similar handling, and vastly superior nitro efficiency, as well as heavy reliance on nitro.
Despite its strong performance once fully upgraded, the DMC-12 is unusable in Multiplayer as it will be matched up with the Tesla Roadster, which it cannot compete with due to the Roadster being superior to the DMC-12 in every performance aspect.
Asphalt 6: Adrenaline[]
The DeLorean DMC-12 is one of the starter cars in the game along with the Mini John Cooper Works, Nissan 370Z, Audi RS 3 Sportback, and the Abarth 500 ESSEESSE.
