The De Tomaso P72 is a limited-run supercar built to pay homage to the P70 prototype race car, and to celebrate the company's 60th anniversary.

Description

“	When I was told this new De Tomaso is an “homage” to my P70 Sports racer I was honored. I had no idea my concept from the mid ‘60s would in any way be influential to a car being presented today. My first impressions of the new DeTomaso are all so positive I hardly know where to begin. The exterior form is so well done it invites you to keep walking around, admiring every subtle detail. In this day of modern super GT’s it’s difficult to stand out for more than a short time. With its design and engineering I think this De Tomaso P72 will set a new standard.	”

To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of De Tomaso, we proudly debuted the first new project of our revival, the P72. The P72 is a tribute to the original P70.

Speaking about the new P72, Norman Choi, of De Tomaso, said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of this exclusive car. We have devoted numerous days and nights developing a car that can live up to its predecessor. The P72 evokes the spirit of Alejandro de Tomaso, the brand and the eras that this car represents.”

A true modern-day time machine, the P72 will create a new segment in today’s market. A segment for those who have been yearning for a modern-day classic that is not only dressed with a timeless shape and an unspeakable elegance, but one that will provide a grand touring experience, making you feel as if you are back in the 1960’s.

The P72 is our flagship vehicle, which showcases not only a timeless design, but also the level of engineering execution and refinement instilled into everything we produce. This car represents a glimpse into our future, whilst an ode to the past.

The P72 will remain highly exclusive and only 72 cars will be produced. Whilst having a cutting-edge world-class chassis the Project P features a design with perpetual beauty and a proper manual transmission. This is a car for all generations.

The De Tomaso P72 was added in the Wanderlust and Fifth Anniversary Season Update as a high-ranked Class A car with the following stats:

Performance

The De Tomaso P72 is an improved version of Pagani Imola, with better acceleration, handling and nitro but slightly lower top speed.

Availability

The De Tomaso P72 requires a key to be unlocked. It can be obtained by reach 555 conditions in its Special Event. The key was also obtainable from the special events of Deus Vayanne and SSC Tuatara (2nd Rerun)

Asphalt 8: Airborne

The De Tomaso P72 was added in the Neon Season Update as a high Class A car with the following rank statistics:

• Starting rank: 1438
• PRO rank: 1770
• Tuning Kit bonus: +53
• Nitro Efficiency: ?/?/?

Price & Availability

The P72 was obtainable by reaching Tier 15 or Tier 1 with the Premium upgrade in its Festival. Players who already owned the car by purchasing the Premium Pass at Tier 1 would get 8x Wild Card - Superb at Tier 15 instead.

The P72 was obtainable again in the following events:

1. RAESR Tachyon Speed Car Hunt by reaching Tier 25 with the Premium upgrade. Players who already owned the car would get 10x Wild Card - Epic instead.
2. Top-Up Event by reaching Level 12 that was available between October 25 - November 8, 2024 and by reaching Level 11 that was available between December 20, 2024 - January 2, 2025. Players who already owned the car would get 1x Master Key - Epic instead.
3. Boss Event: Chrome Marauder by exchanging 20,000 Wreckages in the Rogue Market section between April 29 - May 10, 2025. Players who already owned the car would get 1x Master Key - Epic instead.

Upgrades

Prior to the Gangstar Season Update, upgrades require 55 of each Epic Drivetrain, Epic Exhaust, Epic Suspension, Epic Tires, 60 Epic Engine, 60 Epic Tech, 160 De Tomaso P72 Kit and  6,696,000.

Between the Gangstar Season Update and the 2023 Holiday Update, upgrades require 55 of each Epic Drivetrain, Epic Exhaust, Epic Suspension, Epic Tires, 60 Epic Engine, 60 Epic Tech, 160 De Tomaso P72 Kit and  8,800,000.

During the 2024 Spring Update, upgrades require 45 of each Epic Drivetrain, Epic Exhaust, Epic Suspension, Epic Tires, 20 Epic Engine, 20 Epic Tech, 160 De Tomaso P72 Kit and  8,800,000.

As of the Mercedes Season Update, upgrades require 40 of each Epic Drivetrain, Epic Exhaust, Epic Suspension, Epic Tires, 160 De Tomaso P72 Kit and  8,000,000.
