The Dodge Dart GT is a compact sedan made by Dodge that first appears in Asphalt 8: Airborne. It is commonly used as a starting car in the Asphalt series

Overview

The Dodge Dart GT is the sporty version of the regular Dodge Dart. The Dart is a compact sedan manufactured by Dodge, based on an enlarged Fiat Compact platform and debuted at the 2012 North American International Auto Show on January 9, 2012. The Dodge Dart is Dodge's first compact sedan since the discontinuation of the Dodge Neon and Dodge Neon SRT-4 in 2005.

Asphalt 8: Airborne

Summary

The Dodge Dart GT is the first car in Class D and, therefore, the first car in the entire game of Asphalt 8: Airborne.

The Dart is one of only three Dodge vehicles in the game, with the other two being the SRT 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8 and the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X. However, as shown by a Career Event for Dodge cars in Season 6: Adrenaline, the Challenger is not recognised as a Dodge car, but rather, as an SRT car.

The Dart has the following rank statistics:

  • Starting rank: 505
  • MAX rank: 778
  • PRO rank: 529
  • MAX+PRO rank: 802

The Dart is the first car the player ever performs a PRO upgrade on, as a free/mandatory PRO tires upgrade is provided. As such, for new players after the Winter Update (2014), the Dart's true default rank is 515. The Dart has a Tuning Kit bonus of +65.

Performance

Being the first vehicle in the game, the Dart can be considered the worst vehicle in the game. However, this doesn't mean that it can't compete with other cars (or truck/motorcycles). When fully upgraded, the Audi R8 e-tron still lacks a decent raw top speed (top speed without nitro) and the Tesla Model S still lacks both good drifting and handling. Especially at the lowest level (ranks 500-600), where all cars are not yet upgraded, the Dart is still a fierce competitor in Multiplayer.

The Dart has basic statistics. It features a high raw top speed (for its rank) and good handling/decent drifting. However, the Dart suffers from the worst nitro efficiency in the game, 10/15/20, meaning that it can only use its nitro boost for short periods of time. Fortunately for the Dart, this isn't too big of a problem because of the Dart's low nitro speed boost, to begin with. On the contrary, the low nitro speed boost results in the Dart possessing an average acceleration speed.

Usage (Starter's Car)

The Dart is given to the player for free as a starter's car. Several other cars that can be considered as starter's cars appear to the right of the Dart. These include the R8 e-tron, Model S, Cadillac ATS, and Cadillac XTS. After these cars, the Ford F-150 appears; however, it has an unusually expensive price, higher than Credits 70,000, due to it being a high-performing car in Multiplayer (In the newest update, the price dropped to 11 000) .

Unlike previous installations in the Asphalt Series, all cars are available for purchase immediately. However, upon first playing the game, the player will generally not have enough money to buy any of the aforementioned cars unless they pay money for the game. So, the Dart is almost always the first car that the player uses in Season races. After a few races, the player can choose to continue using the Dart as a starter's car. However, it is usually a smarter choice to switch to a better car like the Scion FR-S (which is now removed from sale due to license issues surrounding Toyota ) or the Mini Cooper S Roadster .

Usage (Multiplayer Brackets 550- and 550-600)

(This section contains extensive information on the bracket due to the small count of cars that can compete within it.)

As stated in the Usage (Starter's Car) section, the Dart can compete in Multiplayer to some extent, due to having a very low starting rank. Unlike early cars from higher Classes, the possibility of a lower-ranked car (with upgrades applied) being matched against the Dart is impossible, as of 2017. Therefore, similarly to how the Aston Martin Vulcan is popularly used as a Multiplayer car at ranks 1750+ with a MAX + PRO configuration because of a relatively even playing field (though it has the best overall stats compared to all competitors, by a small margin), the Dart is usable at ranks 550- because all competitors are generally in the same situation.

At such a low level, the player usually wins by being more skilled, more experienced with map routes, and by using boosters. However, races usually take 4 to 6 minutes to complete. Also, almost no Rating Points can be gained once the player crosses the 1300 Rating Point barrier (though at rank ~600, Rating Points can be gained even by players at 1600-1700 total Rating Points). Despite this, the main advantage of competing at 550- is that you can come first-third in most races, allowing the Dart to be a Multiplayer League Point "Farmer" (Multiplayer League Points are a separate system from Rating Points).

At rank 550-, the only bracket where the Dart can seriously compete as a high-end Multiplayer car, its rivals include other Darts (common; starting rank = 515), the R8 e-tron (common; starting rank = 527), the Model S (moderately rare; starting rank = 551), the ATS (very rare; starting rank = 586), the F-150 (rare; starting rank = 506), the Volkswagen Beetle Turbo (rare; starting rank = 527), the Renault DeZir (moderately rare; starting rank = 514), the Camaro Z/28 (extremely rare; starting rank = 543), and the SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI (rare; starting rank = 517).

Most games played while using an unupgraded Dart in Multiplayer will have a demographic like this; 4-5 Darts and 2-3 R8 e-trons. However, on relatively rare occasions (rare, as in every 5-10 games) a car like the F-150 or DeZir can make an appearance in a 550- Multiplayer game. At such low levels, neither the F-150 nor DeZir holds any real advantages or disadvantages. However, at 550+, the true powers of the F-150, Beetle, DeZir, Z/28, and IMPREZA are revealed. These cars are different from the Dart, R8 e-tron, Model S, and ATS in that they all possess very high MAX ranks and final ranks. This allows them to use "upgrade momentum" to increase their speeds more efficiently than cars like the Dart, while also giving them larger Tuning Kit bonuses. Aside from that, these cars also generally have slightly superior default performances, which start to show with upgrades; for example, the Renault DeZir possesses a high nitro efficiency of 6/9/12.

Individually, the Beetle, Z/28 and IMPREZA can be said to be somewhat similar to the R8 e-tron. They all possess low raw top speeds but high nitro statistics, resulting in slightly higher total top speeds overall. Additionally, they all feature slightly superior nitro efficiencies to the Dart, at 9/14/19, 9/14/19 and 8/13/18, respectively; they also feature slightly superior acceleration speeds. These cars are basically R8 e-trons with faster total top speeds.

The other two cars, the F-150 and DeZir, are different. The F-150 is the first of its kind and cannot be compared fully to any other car in the game, as of 2017. Apart from being the only non-car vehicle in the game (unless Formula 1 cars are counted also) before the Motorcycles Update, the F-150 has unique statistics. It features a high acceleration speed and an extreme nitro strength, the current highest in the game. On the contrary, it also features horrible handling while under nitro, decent handling and drifting when not under nitro, and the lowest raw top speed statistic in the entire game. The F-150's unique nitro efficiency is 9/13/17.

The DeZir is another unusual car, although it is now comparable to all of the new Porsche cars, the ED Design Torq, the Honda Integra Type-R, and the Peugeot SR1. It features a very high nitro statistic; higher than the R8 e-tron but lower than the F-150. Because of this, it also features a very low top speed statistic; barely higher than the R8 e-tron and F-150 but lower than the Dart. The DeZir also features a high acceleration speed and a high nitro efficiency (mentioned above). Its handling is similar to the F-150.

Price

As of the Motorcycles Update, the Dodge Dart GT costs Credits 150,750 to MAX and Credits 1,200 to PRO. Its free tires upgrade uses four common cards while its other three PRO upgrades each use only one card.

If the game were to be hacked so that the user no longer had the Dart, it would be purchasable for Credits 0.

Asphalt Street Storm Racing

AST Dart

Although cheap and very easy to acquire, its counterpart in Asphalt Street Storm Racing is slightly better in terms of progress and compared to other cars in its rank and price range.
