The exclusive Monster 1200 sharpens that Monster sports performance to an even finer edge thanks to premium componentry such as the sophisticated Öhlins suspensions and the Brembo M50 braking system. Moreover, the Monster 1200 features wheels with three Y-spokes and exclusive "S" graphics as well as a front carbon mudguard. The front headlight with the DRL (Daytime Running Light) system and LED indicators complete the as-standard features. The Monster 1200 engine is the Testastretta 11° DS twin-cylinder, 1198 cc with 4 valves per cylinder, liquid cooled. Euro 4 type-approved it is the structural element of the suspension set-up with coupling points for the trellis frame. Thanks to the new throttle body and the dedicated exhaust, the second generation Testastretta 11° DS engine generates a power which can be compared with that of a 3/4 cylinder engine and is able to reach even greater performance levels. This engine ensures a distribution of 147 hp at 9,250 rpm and an impressive torque curve which increases riding pleasure even more, generating a maximum torque of 124 Nm at 7,750 rpm.
