Overview
During the race, anyone who is in last place becomes eliminated every 20~30 seconds. With the exception of a few events in Career Mode, all Elimination events have 8 racers, have no traffic, and will generally last between 175 and 210 seconds, provided the player wins in either 2nd or 1st place. In the Metal events exclusive to iOS 8 devices, the elimination period lasts 10 seconds instead, but the warm up time is still the same as

A Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG having won an Elimination event in Buddha's Teachings.
When the player is in last place, the timer is in red. If they get eliminated, their car becomes wrecked (except if in 3rd or 2nd).
Elimination is playable in Multiplayer.
Winning + Stars
Winning in 1st place grants three stars. Getting eliminated at second place grants two stars. Getting eliminated at third place grants only one star. There are various bonus stars, one of them sometimes being a target of Perfect Runs.
Achievement
Winning an Elimination event for the first time unlocks the Ahead of the Curve achievement.
