The Ferrari 458 Italia is a mid-engined sports car that first appears in Asphalt 6: Adrenaline. It is the replacement of the Ferrari F430.
Description
The 458 Italia is the successor to the Ferrari F430. It is a mid-engined sports car produced by the Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari. The 458 Italia replaced the Ferrari F430, and was first officially unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. The 458 Italia is powered by a 4.5 L (270 cu in) V8 engine of the "Ferrari/Maserati" F136 engine family, producing 570 PS (419 kW; 562 hp) at 9,000 rpm (redline) and 540 N·m (398 lb·ft) at 6,000 rpm with 80% torque available at 3,250 rpm. The engine features direct fuel injection, which is a first for Ferrari mid-engine setups in its road cars.
The Ferrari 458 Italia ended productions in 2015 and is succeeded by the 488 GTB.
Asphalt 7: Heat
The Ferrari 458 appears as two variants; the 458 Italia and 458 Spider. Both have the same performance, but the 458 Italia requires more stars (240 vs 120). The only differences between the two is the Tier; the hardtop version appears in Tier 5, while the Spider appears in Tier 6. The Hardtop version costs 240,000 Cash, while the Spider version costs 258,000 Cash.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
The Ferrari 458 Italia was originally the second highest-performing car of Class B, behind the Ford Shelby GT500.
Currently, the 458 Italia sits around the lower-middle of Class B, standing as one of the last cheap cars available for purchase.
The 458 Italia happens to also be cheap relative to other Ferrari cars in Asphalt 8: Airborne. Of the 15 Ferrari cars (and 2+ other Ferrari-based cars), the 458 Italia is much cheaper. Most Ferrari cars have inexplicably absurd initial purchase prices, despite many having fairly horrible performance statistics. Most Ferrari cars also do not have Upgrades that are as expensive as their purchase prices. It is often a good idea to buy them when they are on Special.
The 458 Italia has a starting rank of 1326, a MAX rank of 1484, and a MAX + PRO rank of 1584. Due to a medium difference between the starting and MAX ranks of the 458 Italia, it is a poor choice for Multiplayer. The 458 Italia possesses a Tuning Kit bonus of only +35.
Performance
The 458 Italia has slightly better nitro efficiency values (9/14/19) than the Mazda Furai, which is also slower and more expensive. The 458 Italia is also faster than the Nissan GT-R (R35), although, it has a shorter-lasting nitro boost. The Ford Shelby GT500 is both faster and more nitro-efficient than the 458 Italia, but only slightly.
Other nearby cars outperform the 458 Italia because of superior nitro efficiencies paired with similar or higher total top speeds, however, they are far more expensive. The Mercedes-Benz Biome is notably much faster than the 458 Italia in both raw and total top speeds, while possessing a far more efficient nitro, stronger handling, and a faster acceleration, making it better for both Time-Limited Events and Multiplayer. The Mercedes-Benz Biome could be considered a straight upgrade to the 458 Italia, other than the fact that it has a purchase price of 450,000.
The 458 Italia's handling is good and it possesses a fairly strong drifting statistic. The 458 Italia has most of its speed in raw top speed, which is fortunate, since it has moderately short nitro durations. The 458 Italia has good acceleration.
Usage
Given its cheap buying and upgrading price, the Ferrari 458 Italia can be useful as a class B starter car, although it needs near maximum upgrades to complete Ferrari-exclusive career events.
The 458 Italia is often used as an entry car into Class B Time-Limited Events, like the Ford Shelby GT500. Though inferior performance-wise, the 458 Italia can still be a better option due to the Engine card which it uses in its PRO upgrades being more common.
Multiplayer-wise, the 458 Italia is a bad choice as it lacks acceleration and nitro efficiency, and its terrible speed-to-rank ratio almost makes the 458 Italia useless for Multiplayer.
The Ferrari 458 Italia is also not a rather good car to farm credits with, as its Mastery Challenge 14 and 15 are set in Azure Coast and Nevada respectively, both of which tracks take more than one minute to complete one lap.
However, the Ferrari 458 Italia does count towards some Collections, notably Ferrari and Red Colts collections.
It is also the car featured during the Gameplay Tutorial (found in Settings > Tutorials)
Price
After the price changes on March 23, 2018, the 458 Italia costs 1,475 to purchase (originally 67,500, then 73,500, later 71,000, and was temporarily changed to 1,825 for accounts made after November 13, 2017).
As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades cost 1,020,000 while Pro Kits require 341,600, 16 of each Class B Part, 12 Initial & Early Techs each, 24 Mid-Techs and 24 V8 Engines.
The 458 Italia was a prize for banking in 10,000 Enduro points during the Falcon F7's Enduro Double Down event. 50,000 were rewarded as a compensation for people who already owned the car. It was also a prize for banking in 42,500 Enduro points during the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition's Enduro Double Down event. The alternate reward was 73,500 for people who already owned the car.
