The Ferrari 488 Pista (also abbreviated as Ferrari 488 P) is a special high-performance variant of the Ferrari 488 GTB. It appears in Asphalt 8: Airborne.
Description[]
Unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the 488 Pista takes its roots from the successful 488 GT3/GTE and 488 Challenge race variants. The car has received multiple mechanical and exterior upgrades to become more capable than the standard 488 GTB.
The 3.9 L (3,902 cc) twin-turbocharged V8 engine, known internally as the F154 CD, now makes 710 hp (529 kW) at 8,000 rpm and 568 ft·lb (770 N·m) at 3,000 rpm thanks to the use of a new camshaft, a bigger intercooler, strengthened pistons, titanium connecting rods, and 488 Challenge-derived Inconel exhaust manifolds. The 488 Pista features a revised rear-driving seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with shifts done in 30 milliseconds when in race mode.
The Pista also has been changed on the exterior: air passes through the ducts in the front bumper which direct it through a large vent in the hood, creating more downforce over the nose at high speeds. Helping boost performance further, the air intake tunnels have been moved from the flanks to the rear wing area to optimize clean air flow. Other exterior changes include underbody diffusers and the rear diffuser borrowed from the 488 GTE. In total, the Pista creates 20% more downforce and, with a weight of 3214 lb (1458 kg), is 198 lb (90 kg) lighter than the GTB.
The Pista is capable of 0 - 60 mph (0 - 97 km/h) in 2.85 seconds, 0 - 124 mph (0 - 200 km/h) in 7.6 seconds, and a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h).
The Pista is currently the second fastest mid-engined road car around Ferrari's Fiorano test track, with 01:21.5 for a lap time, 2 seconds behind the LaFerrari's 01:19.7. With all road cars considered, it is the third fastest, behind the Ferrari F12tdf's 01:21.0.

Performance[]
The Ferrari 488 Pista was buffed in the Wild Cards Update to have a similar performance level to the Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 and other Class S kings. At MAX+PRO with a Tuning Kit, the 488 Pista features a very high maximum top speed of 315.2 mph (507.7 km/h), very fast acceleration, decent handling, an average drifting radius and good nitro efficiency. Being a Legacy vehicle, the 488 Pista has an edge over Festival vehicles, which are useless unless fully upgraded, since its performance is decent at lower tunes.
The 488 Pista's strongest statistic (aside from its speed) is its acceleration. The 488 Pista takes 2.6 seconds to accelerate to full speed from a standstill at MAX+PRO with an Extra Tank, Tuning Kit and Nitro Starter using triple tap nitro. This is faster than the McLaren Senna (2.7s), Pagani Huayra BC (2.9s), Koenigsegg Jesko (2.9s) and Arash AF10 (3.0s), equal to the Ferrari FXX K (2.6s) and Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV (2.6s) and slower than the Centenario (2.4s) and Aspark Owl (2.4s). Meanwhile, the 488 Pista also has good albeit not incredible nitro efficiency, comparable to the Senna, Huayra BC, Jesko, etc. and worse than the Centenario, Owl, etc.
The 488 Pista's handling and drifting are relatively average. The Senna, Jesko and Centenario all have noticeably better handling and drifting than the 488 Pista. With that being said, the 488 Pista's handling and drifting are generally competent, unlike the Owl's, for example.
The 488 Pista is the second-fastest Ferrari in the game, with a maximum total speed of 314.2 mph/505.6 km/h at MAX+PRO with a Tuning Kit on, surpassing the previous Enzo Ferrari that had been the fastest Ferrari for 3 years. The 488 Pista has the advantage of a higher raw top speed against its rivals, but its acceleration is only average, taking 4 seconds to reach its aforementioned maximum speed. Its speed is more than enough against the likes of the Rezvani Beast Alpha, McLaren Mercedes MP4-25, and TRION NEMESIS, but not enough compared to the Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV, Aston Martin Vulcan, Apollo Intensa Emozione, 2018 McLaren X2, and Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4. In addition, it only has a sub-average nitro efficiency, which puts the Pista at a disadvantage on tracks emphasizing efficient nitro management. On the other hand, it carries the typical great overall handling of a Ferrari.
Its closest rivals are the Arrinera Hussarya GT, Rezvani Beast Alpha, Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package, McLaren MP4-31, and Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV.Usage[]
Events[]
As the 488 Pista is the second-fastest Ferrari in the game, it is a viable contender for Ferrari-only events, if the player doesn't own the Ferrari FXX K. In events, though, it is only faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder with Weissach Package, Zenvo TS1 GT 10th Anniversary Edition, and Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 SV, the latter only on tracks like Dubai or Sector 8, thus being unable to achieve Top 250.

Compared to the Porsche Carrera GT, Apollo IE, Lambo Centenario, McLaren X2, and AM Vulcan, the 488 Pista isn't as competitive in multiplayer because of its mediocre acceleration when tuned for speed only. It is only marginally better than the Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition. At ranks 1689 and lower, it is inferior to even the McLaren 720S, and due to its acceleration, it is inferior to the Rezvani Beast Alpha except at MAX+PRO, particularly outside of Dubai, Sector 8, and some variants of Tenerife.
Due to the relatively high upgrade requirements to complete its Championship event (especially for players with less skills), it is very difficult to obtain the 488 Pista at a multiplayer configuration, given that most people would have upgraded it to a rank where it would face stiff competition by superior vehicles like the Apollo IE, yet having a lower speed than that required to properly compete.
Other[]
The 488 Pista is usable for Credits grinding as its Season 9 race is set on Rapido Park with a payout of 5,570 and a race time of ~48 seconds.
