The Ferrari F430 is a mid-engined supercar produced by Ferrari between 2004 and 2009 as the successor to the Ferrari 360.
Designed by Pininfarina, under the guidance of Frank Stephenson, the body styling of the F430 was revised from the 360 to improve its aerodynamic efficiency. Downforce was greatly increased while the drag coefficient remained unchanged. Despite sharing the same basic Alcoa Aluminium chassis, roof line, doors, and glass, the car looked significantly different from the 360. A great deal of Ferrari heritage was included in the exterior design, with the Enzo Ferrari's taillights and interior vents at the rear and the car's name being inscribed on the Testarossa-esque driver's side mirror. The large oval openings in the front bumper are reminiscent of Ferrari racing models from the 1960s, specifically the 156 "sharknose" Formula One car and 250 TR61 Le Mans cars of Phil Hill.
The F430 uses a 4.3L naturally aspirated V8 engine of the F136 family. Unlike previous V8 engines, the F136 is not a descendant of the 1950s Dino racing program. The power output is 483 hp (360 kW) at 8,500 rpm and the torque output 343 ft·lb (465 N·m) at 5,250 rpm, with 80% available below 3,500 rpm. The connecting rods, pistons and crankshaft were all entirely new, while the four-valve cylinder head, valves, and intake trumpets were copied directly from Formula One engines, for ideal volumetric efficiency.
The brakes on the F430 were designed as a result of close cooperation with Brembo and Bosch, resulting in a new cast-iron alloy for the discs. The new alloy includes molybdenum, which has better heat dissipation performance. The F430 was also available with the optional carbon fiber-reinforced silicon carbide (C/SiC) ceramic composite brake package. Ferrari claims the carbon ceramic brakes wouldn't fade even after up to 360 laps at their test track.
The F430 can accelerate from standing start to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and a top speed exceeding 196 mph (316 km/h).
The Ferrari F430 was added in the Free to Play Update as a low Class A car with the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 1304
- This was changed to 1276 in the Fast Lane Update
- MAX rank: 1457 (+153)
- This was changed to 1417 (+141) in the Fast Lane Update
- MAX+PRO rank: 1556
- This was changed to 1513 (+96) in the Fast Lane Update
- Tuning Kit bonus: +35
- Stock to MAX+PRO rank difference: 252 (237 in the Fast Lane Update)
- Nitro Efficiency: 7/12/17
The Ferrari F430 can be described as a slightly top speed-focused car; while having decent nitro efficiency and above-average handling, the F430 does have a slight bias towards top speed, albeit not very much. Overall, the Ferrari F430's performance does not have any particular performance aspect at which the F430 can excel.
The Ferrari F430 is generally not recommended for use in the Career Mode except for Season 4: Elite. It also lacks Multiplayer capabilities as more often than not, even if the F430 is tuned to the best possible Multiplayer upgrade setup, it is still unable to beat the likes of the TVR Sagaris and BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage.
The only use the F430 has is counting towards the Ferrari, Euro Aces, GT Club, and Red Colts collections which awards a total of 625,000, 10 Tuning Kits, 45 Extra Tanks, and 4 Class A upgrades when all 8 versions are completed.
As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades costs 720,000 while Pro Kits require 240,000, 10 of each Class A Part, 4 Early & Initial Techs each, 12 Mid-Techs and 8 Advanced Techs.
