Built on the LaFerrari hypercar, the Ferrari FXX K (also stylized as Ferrari FXX-K with the dash), is a limited production track-only hypercar and the successor to the Ferrari FXX and its Evoluzione version, both based on the Enzo Ferrari.
Overview
The name "FXX K" is Ferrari's research and development program based around a laboratory car which is based on Maranello's first hybrid, the LaFerrari, although Ferrari claims that it is an entirely new model. The "K" in the new car's name is referring to the kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) which is used to maximize performance. Unveiled at Yas Marina Circuit at the end of 2014, the FXX K will not be used in competition and was developed to be completely uncompromising. It uses a range of modern innovations that will ensure maximum performance anywhere. A total of 40 units were built. In 2018, the successor to the FXX K, the FXX K EVO, was unveiled to the public (no. 54) by ex-Formula One driver Giancarlo Fisichella.
Powered by a tuned variant of the Ferrari F140 FE 6.3 L (6,262 cc; 382.1 cu in) naturally aspirated V12 engine uptuned to 848 hp (632 kW) mated to an electric motor and a KERS system producing 188 hp (140 kW), the Ferrari FXX K produces 1036 hp (773 kW) and over 664 ft·lb (900 N·m) of torque. The car has extremely effective downforce generation, resulting in a downforce of 1190 lb (540 kg) at 124 mph (200 km/h) with maximum downforce settings enabled.
The FXX K features multiple design differences from the LaFerrari that emphasize improved aerodynamics and weight reduction. The front of the car has a large splitter and twin-profile spoiler, while the headlights are very small for improving aerodynamics. On the rear, the tail is higher and includes an electronically operated rear wing with a tail fin and a small wing in the end of each fin to maximize the downforce. The total weight savings come to 199 lb (90 kg) down from the LaFerrari, for a dry weight of 2568 lb (1165 kg) and a wet weight of 3296 lb (1495 kg), resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 693 hp (517 kW) per tonne or 3.18 lb (1.44 kg) per horsepower.
The FXX K is capable of 0 - 60 mph (0 - 97 km/h) in 2.7 seconds, 0 - 100 mph (0 - 161 km/h) in 4.8 seconds, and a top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h).
Asphalt 8: Airborne
In an official 2016 Asphalt 8 Most Wanted Cars poll asking which cars should be added to the game, the Ferrari FXX K was among the top results, along with the Arrinera Hussarya GT, Aston Martin One-77, DC Avanti, Honda Civic Type R, Koenigsegg Regera, Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4, Lexus LFA, Saleen S5S Raptor, and W Motors Fenyr SuperSport.
The FXX K eventually appeared in the 2019 Halloween Update, three years after its initial appearance in the 2016 Community Car Poll.
The Ferrari FXX K is a high-end Class S car with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 1382
- Hidden MAX rank: 1660 (+278)
- PRO rank: 1861 (+201)
- Tuning Kit bonus: +56
- Stock to PRO rank difference: 479
- Nitro Efficiency: 7/12/16
Performance
At stock, it has a low total top speed of 355 kmh / 220 mph, average acceleration, average handling, good drifting radius and small nitro boost.
At PRO, the Ferrari FXX K has a total top speed of 508.1 km/h / 315.6 mph with a Tuning Kit. With well-rounded performance, the Ferrari FXX K can rival the 2018 McLaren X2, McLaren Senna, Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4, McLaren 600LT, Koenigsegg Regera, Koenigsegg Jesko and Aspark Owl.
Usage
The FXX K is a suitable option for multiplayer as it has comparable acceleration to the 2018 McLaren X2 but has a better drifting radius and nitro duration.
The FXX K is also excellent for Ferrari-only TLEs as it is the fastest Ferrari in the game.
Price
The Ferrari FXX K is obtained by reaching Tier 11 of the 2019 Halloween Festival. If viewed in the Tag Racing car selection menu, it will show a price of 18,000, however, the option to buy out the car is unavailable.
Pro Kits require 5,500,800 and 220 Kit cards. Kit cards for the Ferrari FXX K cost 750 each and were available between November X-X and December 9-29 2019.
Asphalt 9: Legends
The Ferrari FXX K appears as a low Class S car with the following rank statistics:
- Stock rank: 2,804 ( 40)
- rank: 2,953
- rank: 3,127 ( 13)
- rank: 3,298 ( 16)
- rank: 3,563 ( 25)
- rank: 3,832 ( 39)
The Ferrari FXX K behaves similarly to its road variant with increased stats in handling, nitro, and most notably in acceleration. The Ferrari FXX K is now one of the fastest accelerating cars in the game. Its placement in its class mirrors the Ferrari FXX Evo's low Class S placement in Asphalt 8: Airborne.
Fully upgraded, it is comparable to the Lamborghini Egoista but with slightly worse overall stats, although the difference isn't enough to render the FXX K uncompetitive. However, when against better Class S cars, the FXX-K becomes increasingly reliant on its acceleration, handling, and nitro on short tracks to keep up. On long tracks, it will struggle with its low top speed of 363 km/h.
