The Ferrari Testarossa (with "Testarossa" meaning "red head" in Italian) is a classic car by Ferrari that appears in the Asphalt series.
Overview
The Ferrari Testarossa is a flat-12 mid-engined sports car produced from 1984 to 1986, with three generations, the Testarossa(1984~1986), the 512 TR(1991~1994) and the F512 M(1994~1996), and is the earliest type of the three. It has since been succeeded by the Ferrari 550 Maranello, 575 Maranello, 599 GTB Fiorano, and F12berlinetta, every of them having a front-engine instead of a mid-engine structure. The "Testarossa" name comes from the red-painted cam covers on the flat-12 engine.
The Ferrari Testarossa is most notable for appearing in the critically-acclaimed arcade game Out Run (and most of its sequels) and TV show Miami Vice.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Introduced in The Great Wall update, the Ferrari Testarossa is a low-end Class B car and the second weakest Ferrari vehicle in the game, only stronger than the Ferrari 308 GTS from Class D. In-game, it gains the engine sound of V8-powered vehicles like the Ferrari F430, Hennessey Venom GT, etc. due to the engine not being a V12 engine, but rather a flat-12 engine. Similarly, the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR AMG is powered by a V12 engine, but still gains the same V8 engine sound in-game.
The Ferrari Testarossa has a starting rank of 1150 (same as the Mazda Furai, also in Class B), a maximum rank of 1343, and a final rank of 1464. It is the slowest-accelerating Class B car. The top speed is also not quite high, but when maxed out and with a Pro Kit active, the Testarossa actually goes faster than the Countach. The handling is also decent. Also, the nitro boost is moderately fast to help make up for its inferior performance compared to the other vehicles in Class B.
The Ferrari Testarossa costs 295,000 (10,000 more than the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 2013) to purchase and 265,900 to max out. With the purchase price of 295,000, the Testarossa isn't the best car to purchase, also due to its low starting rank. However, it is really useful due to the fact that it contributes to 3 collections.
The Ferrari Testarossa qualifies for any event that requires Ferrari vehicles, as well as three events of its own:
- A Classic event set in Wall Ascent, in Season 6.
- A Versus event set in Great Wall Rev., racing against the Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary. This is good for farming credits.
- A Classic event set in Fr. Guiana Rev., in Season 9. This event requires a maxed out Testarossa to participate. This event is also suitable for farming Credits.

Trivia
- The Ferrari Testarossa is the only Ferrari vehicle in Asphalt 8 whose default color is not red. Despite this, its in-game concept art still depicts it in red.
- This is proven false as Ferrari 612 Scaglietti and Ferrari Enzo Ferrari also does not have red as it's default color yet depicts in red as well.
- While Mazda Furai has a identical starting rank against the Testarossa, it's performance is much higher, with top speed and nitro power being the same but has much higher acceleration and handling.
- Almost 10,000 Testarossas, 512 TRs, and F512 Ms were produced, making it one of the most-produced Ferrari models, despite its high price and exotic design.
- The Ferrari Testarossa's competitors are the Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary, BMW M1, Mercedes-Benz 300SL and the Nissan 280Z.
