Revision as of 08:18, 24 May 2020
- Not to be confused with the Fifteenth Anniversary Update in Asphalt 9: Legends.
The Fifteenth Aniversary Update is the 41st update of Asphalt 8: Airborne. As its name suggests, it celebrates fifteen years since the debut of the Asphalt series.
Announcement
15 YEARS WITH ASPHALT!
We're glad to celebrate the 15-YEAR ANNIVERSARY of the ASPHALT game franchise! Stay tuned for the Anniversary Festival and special rewards, including the gorgeous Lamborghini Sián FKP 37!
NEW PRO KITS SYSTEM
We are adding new card rarities and reorganizing all vehicle' Pro Kits requirements to create more clarity and accessibility for you when managing resources and progressing through the game!
INVENTORY REWORK
We are dedicated to bringing you the smoothest experience and we continue to enhance the game interface! From now on, you can easily operate your inventory, sell items and even convert card rarities!
CHECK YOUR INBOX
The new INBOX section will temporarily hold your new items if you don't have enough slots in the Inventory. You can take a moment to free up space or expand your storage for the desired items.
LEGACY BOXES
Last but not least, the Pro Kit Boxes are leaving the game. From now you will receive the required cards from rewards and purchases directly and with full transparency! And don't worry, existing Pro Kit Boxes will be moved into the INBOX section, so you can get your cards!

Cards
Card | Name | Class |
---|---|---|
Common | D | |
Uncommon | C | |
Rare | B | |
Epic | A | |
Legendary | S |
- The number of rarity types is increased to five: two new "Uncommon" and "Epic" rarities are added between the existing rarity types (see the table to the right).
- Rarities are no longer linked with drop rates but only denote the card value and the class of the car that uses it.
- Pre-Update Pro Kit Boxes are now called "Legacy Boxes" and grant cards with the new rarity types.
- Legacy Boxes that are still in a player's inventory get a Legacy marker and a 60-day expiration timer.
- The Kit Card of the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio now has the superb rarity. It was the only Kit Card that had remained with the former "Festival" rarity ( 3,500) and was probably overlooked before. Players who have spare Kit Cards for the Terzo Millennio may want to fuse them before updating.
- All Blueprints, Shuffle and Split Boxes are completely removed from the game; any existing Blueprints as well as all Shuffle and Split Boxes are automatically converted into Fusion Coins at an undisclosed exchange rate.
- All other cards in the player's inventory are automatically converted into new cards according to the scheme below. Please note that all old common Tech cards and all old Part cards have a conversion rate of 2:1. This means that 2 old cards give 1 new card.
- Cards also be converted into cards with another rarity by choosing the "Convert" button after tapping on them in the inventory.
Cards can only be converted into the next lower or next higher rarity. Generally, the next lower rarity costs 1 card, and the next higher rarity costs 5 cards. All cards have to be of the same type, i. e. Engines can only be converted into Engines, Tech into Tech, Drivetrain into Drivetrain etc.
All conversion rates result in losses. Besides, conversions cost additional Credits.
Inbox
- The pending boxes list has been replaced with an inbox. Legacy Boxes in the inbox expire after 60 days, all newly earned items expire after 3 days and are then automatically converted into Fusion Coins at the exchange rates displayed over the green "Exchange" button.
Item | SELL button (Inventory) |
EXCHANGE button (Inbox) |
---|---|---|
Common Drivetrain | 500 | 350 |
5-Min Extra Tank | 360 | 250 |
Class D Upgrade | 3,000 | 2,100 |
Class C Upgrade | 6,000 | 4,200 |
Class A Upgrade | 12,000 | 8,400 |
Class S Upgrade | 15,000 | 10,500 |
- It is strongly advised to NEVER use the "Exchange" button! The received Fusion Coins are only a fraction of the amount players would get if they stored the items and then sold them with the "Sell" buton in the inventory. The Exchange button furthermore only sells all items of a kind at once; players cannot choose a number to sell. One wrong click immediately causes a loss of 30 %. Players should not get trapped by the green color of the (negative) "Exchange" button and the red bar over the (positive) "Store" button.
Box | Fusion value per card | |
---|---|---|
v4.9.1 | v5.0.0 | |
1 Part - B Box | 1,000 | 300 |
1 Part - S Box | 1,500 | 600 |
Champion Kit Box | 977 | 443 |
Engine Box 1-5 | 1,015 | 600 |
Finish Line Box | 1,091 | 567 |
Multiplayer Pro Box | 974 | 447 |
Random Box 1-5 | 777 | 350 |
Tech Box 1 | 836 | 400 |
Tech Box 3 | 800 | 417 |
- The same goes for fusing Legacy Boxes as a whole. The table to the right shows the average Fusion Coin value per card for some common boxes before the update, based on a sample size of 21,608 cards from WikiProject Statistics, compared with the Fusion Coin value after the update, displayed above the "Exchange" buttons in the new inbox.
It is strongly advised not to fuse complete boxes with the "Exchange" button but to always open them and then decide what to do with the obtained cards.
Upgrades
Class | Required | Engine | Tech | Parts |
---|---|---|---|---|
D | 1–5 | |||
C | 1–5 | |||
B | 1–5 | |||
A | 1–5 | |||
S | 1–5 |
- The Upgrade system has been completely reorganized and simplified.
- The upgrade prices have been slightly reduced for all the cars.
- The number of required Pro Kit cards has been massively reduced. Every car now needs 1 card for level 1, 2 cards for level 2 etc.
- The card rarity corresponds with the car's class: Class D needs common cards, Class C needs uncommon cards etc.
- Class D cars do not need Engine and Tech cards, Class C cars do not need Engine cards. All other classes need Engine, Tech and Part cards.
- upgrades can only be applied to vehicles that have all upgrades applied first. Previously applied Pro upgrades for non-max cars are not lost; the Pro section can simply not be accessed until the car is maxed.
- All cars that had only and no upgrades now require Vehicle Kit cards instead of Pro Kit cards, in a similar manner as the Festival vehicles. This affects the Ariel Atom V8, McLaren M14A, McLaren Mercedes MP4-25, McLaren MP4/8, McLaren MP4-31 and 2018 McLaren X2.
- Motorcycles no longer have upgrades; their upgrades are included in recalculated upgrades.
Career
- Career races have been reorganized. Tracks from Area 51, Rio de Janeiro, Patagonia, Munich Subway, Transylvania and Orbital Loop have been integrated in many seasons and replaced the previous races.
- Some of the new races also require Festival cars like the Volkswagen I.D. R.
- If players had already obtained all Stars from the previous races that have been replaced, all goals of the new races are marked as achieved although a player may never have driven them.
- The progress of Season 9 races has been messed up. The races have been moved to the reassigned vehicle classes, but the Stars statistics have not been transferred together with the races. This results in many races with all goals marked as achieved although the car was never maxed, and in some races that have lost all Stars although the player had achieved the goals. As the total number of Stars remained the same, players did not really lose progress but can now earn Stars again with full (and high) Credit rewards being granted.
Mastery
- Specialist Kit Boxes, Champion Kit Boxes and Engine Boxes have been removed as rewards from Mastery.
- The 12th challenge now awards Fusion Coins.
- The 13th challenge awards a class-specific tech card.
- Licences are now rewarded at the 14th challenge.
Vehicles
- The performance stats of the following cars are adjusted to improve their competitiveness:
- The following vehicles have received a price change:
- The following vehicles were given a new class designation:
Other
- Fusion Coins can now be obtained as rewards from Daily Tasks streaks, MAX Collections, Mastery, Time-Limited Events, and Multiplayer seasons.
- Daily Tasks now grant 3,000 instead of 1,500 for each task. The streak reward of 100 has been replaced with 20,000- It is unclear if there are other rewards that replace the occasional Optimal Shuffle Box and Optimal Split Box.
- Event types, car requirements, race tasks, and completion rewards are adjusted to accommodate the new Pro Kit system.
- The duration of boosters from daily ads has been shortened to 5 minutes.
- Collections now grant only boosters for Classic Collections and only Fusion Coins for MAX Collections.
- The events in Career Mode for Seasons 1-8 have new vehicle and track settings.
- The reset time for daily ads has been changed to around 20:00? UTC.
Cosmetic changes
- New app icon of a Lamborghini Sián FKP 37.
- New loading screen of a Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 in Dubai.
- Inbox is displayed at the top of the screen between the Fusion Coin balance and Inventory.
- The icon for Inventory has been changed.
- The layout of Inventory has been changed.
- Fusing cards is now called "exchanging" in the inbox and "selling" in the inventory. This is finally the correct term as fusing a card is selling/exchanging one currency for another.

Bugs/Glitches
- Subtracted cards: If a box that grants more than one card is opened, the number of converted cards given will have one card less. This does not occur if the box only gives 1 card and is opened separately.
- Wrong card color scheme: The redesign of the Infiniti Project Black S Special Edition Kit card has actually downgraded it from prime (worth 2,500) to extra rarity (worth 2,000) although the card is still marked as prime when opening a Legacy Box. It is also wrongly sorted among the prime cards in the inventory.

Trivia
- This is the first update since Car Blueprints Update to add a car with decals.
