The Ford Focus RS is a Tier 2 car in Asphalt 7: Heat and a Class C car in Asphalt 8: Airborne. The Ford Focus RS is one of the rally cars with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X in the Asphalt series, not just Asphalt 8: Airborne.
Overview
Following the merger of Ford's North American Special Vehicle Team (SVT), the European TeamRS and the Australian Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) divisions to the development of Ford's global performance vehicles, Ford's Advanced Product Creation and Performance Vehicles director Hermann Salenbauch announced that the decision to sell Ford Focus RS/SVT to North America depends on feedback from the media and customers. However, the product would only appear 2 years after the release of the third generation Focus models. On August 4, 2011 Ford's global boss for small cars, Gunnar Herrmann, revealed to magazine Drive that the third iteration of the hot hatch was in the works. The new Focus RS will be a 5 door hot hatch for its first time and FWD with more than 330 hp (227 KW) which will be transferred to the road with so-called ‘Revoknuckle’ suspension. The new Focus RS is expected to arrive towards the end of 2015 in Europe and the rest of the world; in North America it will arrive after 2015. The new Ford Focus RS's competitors are the Volkswagen Golf R, Subaru WRX STI, Ford Fiesta ST and the Volkswagen Golf GTI for the North American market. The new Ford Focus RS's competitors are the Renault Mégane R.S., Opel Astra OPC, Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Kia Cee'd GT for the European market.
Asphalt 7: Heat
The Ford Focus RS is actually a Ford Focus RS 500. The Focus RS is the first and the lowest-end Tier 2 car that can be purchased. It requires 20 stars to unlock, costs 54,200 cash, and can be lent for 7500 cash. Its acceleration is very slow, about 6 seconds, even with its nitro. Its nitro, while looks weak, is very efficient, much like the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti in Class C, which does not appear in Asphalt 7. Handling of this car is so-so, due to its low acceleration and its FWD nature.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
The Ford Focus RS is the fifth car in Class C and is one of the 10 original cars in Class C.
The Focus RS has a low starting rank of 1012, a MAX rank of 1246, and a MAX + PRO rank of 1355. The Focus RS receives a Tuning Kit bonus of +53.
Performance
The Focus RS has a good "triple-tap" launch speed of roughly 3.5 seconds (+Nitro Starter -Tuning Kit). However, the Focus RS has only got a mediocre nitro efficiency of 6/12/16.
The Focus RS is faster than all the cars before it. It competes fairly well against the faster but more fragile KTM 1290 Super Duke R and the faster but less agile Lamborghini Urus. However, the Focus RS is no longer competitive when faced off against the Infiniti FX50 and higher cars.
The Focus RS heavily relies on its good acceleration and good handling to keep up with other cars around the same rank. The Focus RS has a wide drifting radius.
Usage
The Focus RS competes as a starter's car for Class C.
The Focus RS is featured in the Career Mode.
The Focus RS is not very good for Multiplayer or Time-Limited Events.
The Focus RS doesn't have very good secondary Mastery rewards. The Focus RS is featured in one collection: Everyday Rides.
The Focus RS is an easy source of because it is cheap to buy and upgrade.
Price
The Focus RS costs 16,000 or 220 to purchase, 265,500 to MAX and 45,010 to PRO. The Focus RS doesn't use any rare/legendary cards or Engine cards in its PRO upgrades.
Asphalt: Xtreme
The Ford Focus RS appears in Asphalt: Xtreme as a starter's Class D Rally Car.
Unlike its Asphalt 8: Airborne version, Focus RS now has several off-road modifications including a grill mounted light-bar, a larger rear spoiler mounted on the tail lights, and off-road tires.
The Focus RS is one of the lowest-performing vehicles in Asphalt: Xtreme, alongside the Predator X-18 Intimidator (Buggy), Land Rover Defender (SUV), Chevrolet Colorado Z71 (Pickup), Unimog U 4023 (Truck), and Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Monster (Monster Truck).
All of the above vehicles start at Level 1 and can be upgraded to Level 15. All of these vehicles require 52,100 or 78, 38 Vehicle-Specific Blueprints and 119 Class D Tech cards to fully upgrade. Tune-ups cost 200 and take 2 or 4 minutes to complete.
The Focus RS has a high raw top speed statistic and a low nitro statistic, with very poor nitro efficiency. However, the Focus RS has a very quick nitro recharge, being a Rally Car, and it also features very good handling and drifting but a poor rate of acceleration.
