The Ford Focus RS is a Tier 2 car in Asphalt 7: Heat and a Class C car in Asphalt 8: Airborne. The Ford Focus RS is one of the rally cars with the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X in the Asphalt series, not just Asphalt 8: Airborne.
Overview
Following the merger of Ford's North American Special Vehicle Team (SVT), the European TeamRS and the Australian Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) divisions to the development of Ford's global performance vehicles, Ford's Advanced Product Creation and Performance Vehicles director Hermann Salenbauch announced that the decision to sell Ford Focus RS/SVT to North America depends on feedback from the media and customers. However, the product would only appear 2 years after the release of the third generation Focus models. On August 4, 2011 Ford's global boss for small cars, Gunnar Herrmann, revealed to magazine Drive that the third iteration of the hot hatch was in the works. The new Focus RS will be a 5 door hot hatch for its first time and FWD with more than 330 hp (227 KW) which will be transferred to the road with so-called ‘Revoknuckle’ suspension. The new Focus RS is expected to arrive towards the end of 2015 in Europe and the rest of the world; in North America it will arrive after 2015. The new Ford Focus RS's competitors are the Volkswagen Golf R, Subaru WRX STI, Ford Fiesta ST and the Volkswagen Golf GTI for the North American market. The new Ford Focus RS's competitors are the Renault Mégane R.S., Opel Astra OPC, Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Kia Cee'd GT for the European market.
Asphalt 7: Heat
The Ford Focus RS is actually a Ford Focus RS 500. The Focus RS is the first and the lowest-end Tier 2 car that can be purchased. It requires 20 stars to unlock, costs 54,200 cash, and can be lent for 7500 cash. It's acceleration is very slow, about 6 seconds, even with its nitro. It's nitro, while looks weak, is very efficient, much like the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti in Class C, which does not appear in Asphalt 7. Handling of this car is so-so, due to its low acceleration and its FWD nature.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
The Focus RS has a starting rank of 1012 and a maxed rank of 1246. It costs 16,000 to purchase, and like with most other C class cars, costs 213,800 to max out. The car currently qualifies for the following events:
- A Versus event in Season 3 on the Alps track against the Lotus Exige S Coupe.
- A classic event set in Season 4 on the Barcelona track.
- Any event involving Ford vehicles.
- A Classic event set in Season 9, Race 15 on the Iceland Reverse course. The bonus stars are Beat a Race Time of 02:03:000 and Knockdowns: 2
