The Ford GT is a mid-engine supercar made by Ford in the Asphalt series.
Description[]
- Text originally from the Ford GT Wikipedia article.
The Ford GT began as a concept car designed in anticipation of the automaker's centennial year and as part of its drive to showcase and revive its "heritage" names such as Mustang and Thunderbird. At the 1995 Detroit Auto Show, the Ford GT90 concept was shown. At the 2002 auto show, Ford unveiled a new GT40 Concept car. Camilo Pardo, the head of Ford's "Living Legends" studio, is credited as the chief designer of the GT and worked under the guidance of J Mays. Carroll Shelby was brought in by Ford to help develop the Ford GT; which included performance testing of the prototype car. While the project was still secret, it was called Petunia.
The GT is similar in outward appearance to the original Ford GT40 cars, but bigger, wider, and most importantly 3 in (76 mm) taller than the original 40 in (100 cm); as a result, a potential name for the car was the GT43. Although the cars are visually related, structurally, there is no similarity between the modern GT and the 1960s GT40 that inspired it. Three production prototype cars were shown in 2003 as part of Ford's centenary, and delivery of the production Ford GT began in the fall of 2004.
As the Ford GT was built as part of the company's 100th anniversary celebration, the left headlight cluster was designed to read "100".

- This was changed to 1494 (+69) in the Showdown Update.
- This was changed to 1494 (+95) in the 2019 Holiday Update.
- This was changed 1498 (+97) in the Ninth Anniversary Update
- Tuning Kit bonus: +32
- This was changed to +34 in the Showdown Update.
- This was changed to +45 in the 2019 Holiday Update.
- Nitro efficiency: 10/15/20
As of the Fifteenth Anniversary Update, the Ford GT 2006 is now a mid Class C car.
Performance[]
Acceleration is acceptable (though far from ideal and only with the nitro active), as is the top speed (even at stock, it already hits above 200 mph). Handling is above-average. However, the nitro is very weak and inefficient, rated as 10/15/20, the lowest nitro efficiency of any car in the game.
Usage[]
Given that the Ford GT has a moderately low upgrade price for a car with high purchase price and lower performance, it is only recommended as a collector's Car. It is also one of the worst cars to use in multiplayer, as any sort of Multiplayer configuration will put it against various cars with better overall stats. Using one in MP will put it at the mercy of the Lamborghini Miura and any car that is better than the Miura regardless of tuning setup. As such, the only uses the Ford GT has are its Season 3 event, and some collections. Given that there are much better cars cheaper than it in Class C, it is not recommended to get the GT to finish Career Mode, given that the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car, DS Survolt, Lotus Exige S Coupe, BMW M2, Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7, Audi RS 4 Avant, Range Rover Evoque Coupe HSE Dynamic and even the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR-X are all better go-to choices.
The Ford GT counts towards the New World Glory collection. A total of 1-Hour Extra Tank and 40,000 are awarded when both versions are completed.
Price[]
As of the Fifteenth Anniversary Update, the Ford GT 2006 costs 550,000 to purchase (originally 50,000, then 64,000 and then 75,000).
The Ford GT 2006 is obtainable by reaching Tier 50 in the Ferrari F8 Tributo Car Hunt. Players who already owned the car would get 8x Wild Card - Uncommon instead.
As of the Gangstar Season Update, upgrades require 55 of each Uncommon Drivetrain, Uncommon Exhaust, Uncommon Suspension, Uncommon Tires, 60 Uncommon Tech, 160 Ford GT 2006 Kit and 6,000,000.
