The car is loosely inspired by a Meyers Manx.
It can be unlocked by stopping 15 cops in the Bandit Chase gamemode. It is not usable in Evolution Mode.
The Buggy has a high acceleration but a very low top speed, which is compensated by a high turn radius and high grip.
