The Geely Borui GC9, also known as simply Geely GC9, is a Chinese family car based on the Volvo S60.
Description[]
The GC9's design is based on the KC Concept unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2013 and was penned by Peter Horbury, former Volvo designed named chief designer at Geely in 2012.
The GC9 was developed from a new platform jointly developed with Volvo. It is equipped with double wishbone suspension tuned by automotive technology company Prodrive. The Borui engine options include a 1.8T GDI engine and 3.5L V6 aluminum engine, as well as a six-speed direct shift gearbox provided by Australian transmission producer DSI, which was acquired by Geely in 2009.
Asphalt Nitro[]
Performance[]
The Geely GC9 behaves just like its Asphalt 8 rendition.
Price[]
With 2 (15 % discount for all D-class cars), the Geely GC9 costs 400 or 3.49 € (after the May 2020 price rise by 10 % for all in-game purchases). Buying the car with real money grants 45.
Asphalt 8: Airborne[]
The Geely GC9 was added in the Tenerife Update but only released in the Car Mastery Update as a high-end Class D car with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 852
- This was changed to ? in the Showdown Update.
- MAX rank: 1188 (+336)
- This was changed to 1202 (+?) in the Showdown Update.
- MAX+PRO rank: 1340 (+156)
- This was changed to 1323 (+121) in the Showdown Update.
- Tuning Kit bonus: +69
- This was changed to +53 in the Showdown Update.
- Nitro Efficiency: 7/12/17
The GC9 mainly rivals the Renault DeZir and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X.
The Geely GC9, while appearing to accelerate slowly at first glance, has a high nitro stat to negate this. The GC9's top speed stat is also only above-average, albeit still better than the Renault DeZir's due to having a smaller nitro boost. Being a heavy luxury sedan, the GC9 has subpar handling yet has a surprisingly sharp drifting radius.
The Geely GC9 originally cost 125,000 to purchase prior to 2018 Spring Update and has been updated to now be a Mastery reward at 100, making it unpurchasable.
As of the Gangstar Season Update, upgrades require 55 of each Common Tires, Common Suspension, Common Drivetrain, and Common Exhaust, 160 Geely GC9 Kit and 4,800,000.
Availability[]
Prior to the Lunar New Year 2017 Update, the Geely GC9 had always been available for purchase after its pre-release cups were held before the Car Mastery Update. It was changed into a time-limited car, available only for purchase between February 19, 2017 and February 25, 2017.
A 7 day event was released on March 18, 2018, where people who scored 21 Trophies were rewarded with the Geely GC9.
As of April 7, 2017, the Geely GC9 now remains permanently in the garage; as of 2018 Spring Update, the car is available for obtaining 100. There are no known compensation for players that obtained the car prior to conversion to a Mastery reward car.
