The Heatwave: Afterburn Update is the eighth content update for Asphalt Legends, and the 45th update overall. This update is an extension to the Legacy of Speed Update.
History[]
In the May Edition of the 2025 Roadmap posted on Asphalt Legends' website, the Blind Pick Stock for the Shop and the Dynamic Rank Cars were announced for the July and October updates, respectively.[1]
On August 11, 2025, in favor of the new feature, during the Legacy of Speed Season, the Bugatti Chiron has its 
Overclock status removed. The car was also removed from the Overclock Showcase event, as announced on the Asphalt Legends Discord server.[2]
Patch notes for the update were unveiled by the official creators on August 16, 2025, including GamingWithAwesome[3], Nox Fury[4], DBT's Vrooms[5], Tune, Race, Repeat![6], SEFYA[7] and LokeshG[8], and were later published on the game's website on August 18, 2025, highlighting the EVO Tuning feature which included the previously announced Blind Pick Stock and Dynamic Rank Cars.[9]
On September 2, 2025, servers were shut down around 18:00 CEST for about 2 hours for maintenance.[10]
Patch notes for the "Crimson Equinox Season" were posted by the official creators on September 16, 2025, including GamingWithAwesome[11], Nox Fury[12], DBT's Vrooms[13], Tune, Race, Repeat![14], SEFYA[15] and LokeshG[16].

- The reward for finishing a race in Stage 1 of the NIO EP9 Max-Out Event shows 10 but players are instead rewarded with 1,000.
Fixed[]
- Players who purchased the Ultimate Legend Pass of the Heatwave: Afterburn Season but didn't claim the 20,000,000 and the Legend Points [19], were later compensated with the missing rewards on August 22, 2025.[20]
- The 20 Years Spotlight event was concluded before players were able to obtain the rewards in Stage 11, despite receiving notifications.
- It was eventually resolved, with players who participated in Stage 11 were compensated with rewards corresponding to the position they finished at.
- On September 3, 2025, a hotfix was launched,[21] fixing the following bugs:
- In Private Lobbies, car selection became limited due to technical issues, including cars with EVO Tuning feature.[22]
- If an EVO tuned car is used when waiting for the race to start in Multiplayer or Gauntlet, the car will slowly move before the race even starts.
- Persisting from the previous update, Container Chaos —a variant of the San Diego track— cannot be selected in Private Races. Attempting to do so will result in a connection error.
- Special Event: Koenigsegg Jesko's bugs:[23]
- The thumbnail of the event was erroneously displayed the one of the Special Event: Ford Team Fordzilla P1.
- The event had a total of 382 conditions, while 398 conditions were required for the Jesko's key.
- Stage 5 featured an unusual track layout, which may result in players being sent to the cheaterboard.
- This was fixed 12 hours later, with the layout being changed to "The Enchanted Island".[24]
- When the event concluded, a "Ready" pop-up was displayed.[25]
- In the Crimson Equinox Season Overclock Showcase, the Lotus E-R9 was erroneously featured, and the Ford GT Mk IV wasn't regulated.
- The E-R9 was later removed from the event.
- In the Vencer Sarthe's Starway Support Cars Card Pack, the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo was featured instead of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S.
- Season Series rounds:
- In the Heatwave: Afterburn Season Unbreakable Drive, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut was featured as a free-try instead of the Koenigsegg Jesko, and the Ferrari FXX K was regulated instead of the Lego Technic Ferrari FXX K.
- In the Crimson Equinox Season Unbreakable Drive, the RAESR Tachyon Speed was wrongly regulated.
