The Hennessey Venom GT is a Lotus Exige-based hypecar created by Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering. It is known for being one of the fastest production cars in the world.
Overview
The Hennessey Venom GT's chassis is a heavily modified version of the Lotus Exige's chassis. Hennessey claims that the chassis uses components from the Exige, including the roof, doors, side glass, windscreen, cockpit, floorpan, HVAC system, wiper, and headlights. Hennessey and the Venom GT are not affiliated with Lotus Cars.
The Venom GT uses carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wheels, along with Brembo six-piston brake calipers in the front and four-piston brake calipers in the rear.
The Venom GT uses a twin-turbocharged 7.0L (7,011 cc) GM LSX engine that is sometimes incorrectly thought to be a variation of the GM LS7 engine with which it shares some similarities. The engine produces 1244 hp (928 kW) at 6,600 rpm and 1155 ft·lb (1566 N·m) at 4,400 rpm. The mid-mounted V8 is mated to the rear wheels with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, the same one used in the Ford GT.
On January 21, 2013, the Venom GT set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production car from 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) with an average acceleration time of 13.63 seconds. In addition, the car set an unofficial record for 0-200 mph (0-322 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R's time of 17.68 seconds, making it the unofficial fastest accelerating production car in the world.
On April 3, 2013, the Venom GT hit 265.7 mph (427.6 km/h) over the course of 2 miles (3.2 km) during testing at the United States Naval Air Station Lemoore in Lemoore, California. Hennessey used two VBOX 3i data logging systems to document the run, with VBOX officials on hand to verify the numbers.
On February 14, 2014, on the Kennedy Space Center's 3.2 mi (5.2 km) shuttle landing strip in Florida, the Venom GT was recorded as doing a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h), but in only a single direction. As the run was done in only one direction and only 16 Venom GTs have been sold to date, it does not officially qualify as the world's fastest production car in the Guinness Book of Records.
While the Venom GT is claimed to have a top speed of 277 mph (446 km/h), in real life, it was tested to hit only 270 mph (435 km/h), as mentioned earlier.
Asphalt 8: Airborne

A mid ranked Class S car, the Hennessey Venom GT first appeared in the Fuel Events Update of the game. Prior to the Hennessey Venom GT Cup, the Venom GT first appeared as an AI racer in the Independence Day Cup (set in Nevada) and Class S Cup (set in The London Eye). After the completion of the first Hennessey Venom GT Cup, it became available to purchase. It has a starting rank of 1555, a MAX rank of 1674, and a MAX+PRO rank of 1751 (the latter two being shared with the SSC Ultimate Aero XT in terms of integer rank numbers). The car gains +27 from Tuning Kits.
The Hennessey Venom GT's main specialty is its high top speed, albeit lower than displayed, due to the large speed multiplier of 85.74%. While the Venom GT performs rather well in acceleration and handling, it suffers from poor nitro, along with subpar nitro efficiency (9/12.5/18, while still better than the normal 9/14/18), which can spell serious trouble if the Venom GT runs out of nitro whilst accelerating. This leaves the Venom GT at the mercy of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014, which has the exact same real total speed yet has far better overall stats.
There is no good reason whatsoever to use the Hennessey Venom GT in any other kind of event because it lacks any particular strength, and in Multiplayer, it largely suffers in what matters most, meaning it can struggle to beat weaker cars with higher nitro stats, even the Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS. Cars such as the McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 outclass the Venom GT in every possible way while having much lower costs, and the Koenigsegg One:1 and McLaren F1 XP-5 also outperform it while not costing much more.
All in all, the Hennessey Venom GT is not generally considered a recommended car to buy. Despite this, the Venom GT is required for completion of Season 6: Adrenaline of the Career mode and appears in one collection. The Venom GT is also one of the Enduro Cars used in the Enduro Double Down event for the Icona Vulcano V12 Hybrid, details of which can be found here.
The Hennessey Venom GT costs 2,250,000 to purchase and
2,474,350 to max out. Prior to the Winter Update, it was priced at
3,000,000 for purchase, although some users on Android have reported seeing two different prices of either
2,500,000 or
5,000,000, the latter of which is more expensive than even the TRION NEMESIS.
