⚫ | |||
+ | The Hennessey Venom GT is a Lotus Exige-based hypecar created by Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering. It is known for being one of the fastest production cars in the world. |
||
+ | == Description == |
||
− | The Hennessey Venom GT is among one of the fastest vehicles in the Asphalt series. |
||
+ | The Hennessey Venom GT's chassis is a heavily modified version of the Lotus Exige's chassis. Hennessey claims that the chassis uses components from the Exige, including the roof, doors, side glass, windscreen, cockpit, floorpan, HVAC system, wiper, and headlights. Hennessey and the Venom GT are not affiliated with Lotus Cars. |
||
+ | The Venom GT uses carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wheels, along with Brembo six-piston brake calipers in the front and four-piston brake calipers in the rear. |
||
− | == Overview == |
||
− | The Hennessey Venom GT is a limited-production supercar made by Hennessey Performance and built on a heavily-modified Lotus Exige chassis. It served one purpose: to break the world record for the highest speed in any regular production land vehicle (270.49 mph / 435.49 km/h). Unfortunately, it did not make the record in 2013 as the run was done in a single direction and only 29 Venom GTs were produced. |
||
+ | The Venom GT uses a twin-turbocharged 7.0L (7,011 cc) GM LSX engine that is sometimes incorrectly thought to be a variation of the GM LS7 engine with which it shares some similarities. The engine produces 1244 at 6,600 rpm and 1155 at 4,400 rpm. The mid-mounted V8 is mated to the rear wheels with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, the same one used in the Ford GT. |
||
− | === Asphalt 8: Airborne === |
||
− | The Hennessey Venom GT first appeared in the June 2014 update of the game. Prior to the Hennessey Venom GT Cup, the Venom GT first appeared as an AI racer in the Independence Day Cup (set in Nevada) and Class S Cup (set in The London Eye). Since the completion of the first Hennessey Venom GT Cup, it is currently available in the garage. |
||
+ | On January 21, 2013, the Venom GT set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production car from 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) with an average acceleration time of 13.63 seconds. In addition, the car set an unofficial record for 0-200 mph (0-322 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R's time of 17.68 seconds, making it the unofficial fastest accelerating production car in the world. |
||
− | The Hennessey Venom GT is the fourth most powerful car in the game, placed at the highest end of Class S. It has a starting rank of 1555 (third highest of any car in the game, behind the SSC Tuatara's 1561 and the Koenigsegg One:1's 1562), a maximum rank of 1674 (shared with the SSC Ultimate Aero XT), and a final rank of 1751 (also shared with the SSC Ultimate Aero XT). The Venom GT has the highest top speed of any vehicle in the game. Handling is also very decent. However, it accelerates a little slower than the Ultimate Aero XT due to a weaker nitro boost. It still has a decent nitro efficiency, though, but not the best. As a result of having a slightly higher starting rank than the SSC Ultimate Aero XT, the Hennessey Venom GT gains 27 bonus rank points with a Tuning Kit as opposed to the Ultimate Aero XT's 29. |
||
+ | On April 3, 2013, the Venom GT hit 265.7 mph (427.6 km/h) over the course of 2 miles (3.2 km) during testing at the United States Naval Air Station Lemoore in Lemoore, California. Hennessey used two VBOX 3i data logging systems to document the run, with VBOX officials on hand to verify the numbers. |
||
− | The Hennessey Venom GT is the third most expensive vehicle available for purchase by credits, costing 2,250,000, only three-fourths of the Koenigsegg One:1's 3,000,000. Prior to the Winter update, the Venom GT was priced the same as the One:1. It costs 2,474,350 to max out, as expected for a car of an extreme purchase price. |
||
+ | On February 14, 2014, on the Kennedy Space Center's 3.2 mi (5.2 km) shuttle landing strip in Florida, the Venom GT was recorded as doing a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h), but in only a single direction. As the run was done in only one direction and only 16 Venom GTs have been sold to date, it does not officially qualify as the world's fastest production car in the Guinness Book of Records. |
||
− | As of the San Diego Harbor update, the Hennessey Venom GT has its own event in Season 6. This event is the singular most expensive event ouside of Season 9 (not counting the events that require Premium cars), requiring 2,250,000 Credits to participate for the first time (if the player doesn't have the car already). |
||
+ | While the Venom GT is claimed to have a top speed of 277 mph (446 km/h), in real life, it was tested to hit only 270 mph (435 km/h), as mentioned earlier. |

+ | ===Performance=== |
+ | While the Venom GT performs rather well in acceleration and handling, it suffers from poor nitro, along with subpar nitro efficiency, which can spell serious trouble if the Venom GT runs out of nitro while accelerating. This leaves the Venom GT at the mercy of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014, which has the same total speed with better overall stats. |

+ | The Hennessey Venom GT is similarly a poor choice for multiplayer with its lackluster performance. The Hennessey Venom GT will be put in races with the Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition, Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition, Aston Martin Vulcan and Apollo Intensa Emozione, all of which it cannot compete against. |

The Hennessey Venom GT is a Lotus Exige-based hypecar created by Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering. It is known for being one of the fastest production cars in the world.
Description
The Hennessey Venom GT's chassis is a heavily modified version of the Lotus Exige's chassis. Hennessey claims that the chassis uses components from the Exige, including the roof, doors, side glass, windscreen, cockpit, floorpan, HVAC system, wiper, and headlights. Hennessey and the Venom GT are not affiliated with Lotus Cars.
The Venom GT uses carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wheels, along with Brembo six-piston brake calipers in the front and four-piston brake calipers in the rear.
The Venom GT uses a twin-turbocharged 7.0L (7,011 cc) GM LSX engine that is sometimes incorrectly thought to be a variation of the GM LS7 engine with which it shares some similarities. The engine produces 1244 hp (928 kW) at 6,600 rpm and 1155 ft·lb (1566 N·m) at 4,400 rpm. The mid-mounted V8 is mated to the rear wheels with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, the same one used in the Ford GT.
On January 21, 2013, the Venom GT set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production car from 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) with an average acceleration time of 13.63 seconds. In addition, the car set an unofficial record for 0-200 mph (0-322 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R's time of 17.68 seconds, making it the unofficial fastest accelerating production car in the world.
On April 3, 2013, the Venom GT hit 265.7 mph (427.6 km/h) over the course of 2 miles (3.2 km) during testing at the United States Naval Air Station Lemoore in Lemoore, California. Hennessey used two VBOX 3i data logging systems to document the run, with VBOX officials on hand to verify the numbers.
On February 14, 2014, on the Kennedy Space Center's 3.2 mi (5.2 km) shuttle landing strip in Florida, the Venom GT was recorded as doing a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h), but in only a single direction. As the run was done in only one direction and only 16 Venom GTs have been sold to date, it does not officially qualify as the world's fastest production car in the Guinness Book of Records.
While the Venom GT is claimed to have a top speed of 277 mph (446 km/h), in real life, it was tested to hit only 270 mph (435 km/h), as mentioned earlier.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
The Hennessey Venom GT was added in the Fuel Events Update as high-end Class S car with the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 1555
- MAX rank: 1674
- MAX+PRO rank: 1751
- Tuning Kit bonus: +27
- Speed Modifier: 85.74%
- This was removed in the 2019 Holiday Update.
- Nitro Efficiency: 9/12.5/18
Performance
While the Venom GT performs rather well in acceleration and handling, it suffers from poor nitro, along with subpar nitro efficiency, which can spell serious trouble if the Venom GT runs out of nitro while accelerating. This leaves the Venom GT at the mercy of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014, which has the same total speed with better overall stats.
Usage
The Hennessey Venom GT is similarly a poor choice for multiplayer with its lackluster performance. The Hennessey Venom GT will be put in races with the Audi R8 e-tron Special Edition, Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition, Aston Martin Vulcan and Apollo Intensa Emozione, all of which it cannot compete against.
The Venom GT is required for completion of Season 6: Adrenaline of Career mode. The Venom GT is also one of the Enduro Cars used in the Enduro Double Down event for the Icona Vulcano V12 Hybrid, details of which can be found here.
The Hennessey Venom GT is part of the New World Glory Collection which awards a total of 40 Tuning Kits when completed.
Price
The Hennessey Venom GT had an original buying price of 3,000,000 but has been reduced to 1,450,000. It was removed from the Garage in the 2019 Holiday Update for non-owners. As of the Fifteenth Anniversary Update, the Venom GT can again be purchased by all players for 5,000,000.
As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades cost 2,026,000 while Pro Kits require 674,400, 18 of each Class S Part, 32 Forced-Induction V8s, 36 Mid-Techs, and 24 Advanced Techs.
As of the 2019 Holiday Update, the Venom GT no longer has any Upgrades and has been replaced with the status.
Asphalt Overdrive
The Hennessey Venom GT appears as a Turf 5 car and costs 1,250 Gold to purchase. It has a x1.5 bonus on Takedown points.
