||
− | The Hennessey Venom GT is a limited-production supercar made by Hennessey Performance and built on a heavily-modified Lotus Exige chassis. The upgraded version of the Venom GT is the Hennessey Venom F5. The purpose of the Venom GT is to break the world record for the highest speed in any regular production land vehicle (270.49 mph / 435.49 km/h). Unfortunately, it did not make the record in 2013 as the run was done in a single direction and only 29 Venom GTs were produced in the world. |
||
+ | The Venom GT uses a twin-turbocharged 7.0L (7,011 cc) GM LSX engine that is sometimes incorrectly thought to be a variation of the GM LS7 engine with which it shares some similarities. The engine produces 1244 at 6,600 rpm and 1155 at 4,400 rpm. The mid-mounted V8 is mated to the rear wheels with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, the same one used in the Ford GT. |

− | The Hennessey Venom GT first appeared in the June 2014 update of the game. Prior to the Hennessey Venom GT Cup, the Venom GT first appeared as an AI racer in the Independence Day Cup (set in Nevada) and Class S Cup (set in The London Eye). Since the completion of the first Hennessey Venom GT Cup, it is currently available in the garage. |
||
+ | On January 21, 2013, the Venom GT set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production car from 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) with an average acceleration time of 13.63 seconds. In addition, the car set an unofficial record for 0-200 mph (0-322 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R's time of 17.68 seconds, making it the unofficial fastest accelerating production car in the world. |
||
− | The Hennessey Venom GT is the fourth most powerful car in the game, placed at the highest end of Class S. It has a starting rank of 1555 (third highest of any car in the game, behind the SSC Tuatara's 1561 and the Koenigsegg One:1's 1562), a maximum rank of 1674 (shared with the SSC Ultimate Aero XT), and a final rank of 1751 (also shared with the SSC Ultimate Aero XT). The Venom GT has the highest top speed of any vehicle in the game. Handling is also very decent. However, it accelerates a little slower than the Ultimate Aero XT due to a weaker nitro boost. It still has a decent nitro efficiency, though, but not the best. As a result of having a slightly higher starting rank than the SSC Ultimate Aero XT, the Hennessey Venom GT gains 27 bonus rank points with a Tuning Kit as opposed to the Ultimate Aero XT's 29. |
||
+ | On April 3, 2013, the Venom GT hit 265.7 mph (427.6 km/h) over the course of 2 miles (3.2 km) during testing at the United States Naval Air Station Lemoore in Lemoore, California. Hennessey used two VBOX 3i data logging systems to document the run, with VBOX officials on hand to verify the numbers. |

It costs 2,474,350 to max out, as expected for a car of an extreme purchase price. |
||
+ | On February 14, 2014, on the Kennedy Space Center's 3.2 mi (5.2 km) shuttle landing strip in Florida, the Venom GT was recorded as doing a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h), but in only a single direction. As the run was done in only one direction and only 16 Venom GTs have been sold to date, it does not officially qualify as the world's fastest production car in the Guinness Book of Records. |

The Hennessey Venom GT is a Lotus Exige-based hypercar created by Texas-based Hennessey Performance Engineering. It is known for being one of the fastest production cars in the world.
Description
- Text originally from the Hennessey Venom GT's Wikipedia page.
The Hennessey Venom GT's chassis is a heavily modified version of the Lotus Exige's chassis. Hennessey claims that the chassis uses components from the Exige, including the roof, doors, side glass, windscreen, cockpit, floorpan, HVAC system, wiper, and headlights. Hennessey and the Venom GT are not affiliated with Lotus Cars.
The Venom GT uses carbon fiber bodywork and carbon fiber wheels, along with Brembo six-piston brake calipers in the front and four-piston brake calipers in the rear.
The Venom GT uses a twin-turbocharged 7.0L (7,011 cc) GM LSX engine that is sometimes incorrectly thought to be a variation of the GM LS7 engine with which it shares some similarities. The engine produces 1244 hp (928 kW) at 6,600 rpm and 1155 ft·lb (1566 N·m) at 4,400 rpm. The mid-mounted V8 is mated to the rear wheels with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission, the same one used in the Ford GT.
On January 21, 2013, the Venom GT set a Guinness World Record for the fastest production car from 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) with an average acceleration time of 13.63 seconds. In addition, the car set an unofficial record for 0-200 mph (0-322 km/h) acceleration at 14.51 seconds, beating the Koenigsegg Agera R's time of 17.68 seconds, making it the unofficial fastest accelerating production car in the world.
On April 3, 2013, the Venom GT hit 265.7 mph (427.6 km/h) over the course of 2 miles (3.2 km) during testing at the United States Naval Air Station Lemoore in Lemoore, California. Hennessey used two VBOX 3i data logging systems to document the run, with VBOX officials on hand to verify the numbers.
On February 14, 2014, on the Kennedy Space Center's 3.2 mi (5.2 km) shuttle landing strip in Florida, the Venom GT was recorded as doing a top speed of 270.49 mph (435.31 km/h), but in only a single direction. As the run was done in only one direction and only 16 Venom GTs have been sold to date, it does not officially qualify as the world's fastest production car in the Guinness Book of Records.
