Developed by Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) as a street-legal, 6-unit run version of the Jaguar XJ220C (with "C" possibly standing for "Corsa"), the Jaguar XJ220S TWR (with "S" possibly standing for "Strada") is a limited-edition version of the Jaguar XJ220 supercar by Jaguar, famous for reaching a short-lived top speed record of 212.3 mph (342 km/h) in 1992, making the XJ220 the fastest production car of its time until being superseded by the McLaren F1 in 1993, with a top speed of 231 mph (372 km/h).
Description
Text originally from Supercars.net
If the Jaguar XJ220 was the fastest production car in the mid-nineties, then the TWR supercar made from the Le Mans race version had to be astonishing. Compared to the standard XJ220, TWR’s version sported a new composite body, a more powerful engine, and went on a weight-reducing diet.
In January of 1993, Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) and Jaguar Sport launched the XJ220C to compete in the GT class (Group N) of FIA motor sport. At the same time, they announced the XJ220S, a limited-production, road-going version, to comply with homologation requirements. It was easily the most radical supercar in Britain.
Although the standard XJ220 was clothed in a lightweight aluminum body, TWR’s version replaced every panel, except the doors, with carbon fiber. In doing so they added a front splitter, wider sills and an adjustable rear spoiler that gave the car an imposing edge and made the standard XJ220 look docile.
Overhauled out to 671 bhp (680 PS), TWR took the 3.5 L (3,507 cc) twin-turbocharged V6 to its limits. Combined with a weight reduction that removed the stereo, air conditioning, and heavy seats, the car could accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds and reach 229 mph (369 km/h).
Only nine TWR XJ220 cars were completed and six of these were made as road-going S models. Almost all of the six cars have changed colors at least once and many made it over to America after Vik Keuylian, of Keuylian Motorcars, imported several of them.

- Starting rank: 1520
- MAX rank: 1673 (+153)
- MAX+PRO rank: 1772 (+99)

- Tuning Kit bonus: +36
- Stock to MAX+PRO rank difference: 252
- Nitro Efficiency: 6/9/12
Performance
The Jaguar XJ220S, while not a particularly bad car, is easily cast aside in favor of much more powerful Class A cars, including the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport, Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition, Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS, Icona Vulcano V12 Hybrid, SIN R1, and McLaren Mercedes MP4-25. All of these cars have similar final ranks to the Jaguar XJ220S but they possess higher total top speeds; with the MP4-25, both its acceleration and top speed are superior.
However, the Jaguar XJ220S is one of the best-performing Class A vehicles, which does make it useful to an extent. It has very good nitro efficiency, a total top speed slightly higher than that of the Aston Martin One-77, very fast acceleration (similar to that of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014), decent handling, and a somewhat wide drifting radius. A low raw top speed, large nitro and high starting rank are the main reasons behind the Jaguar XJ220S' inferior total top speed to the cars mentioned previously. The Jaguar's lower top speed does help to mitigate its wide drifting radius.
