The Lightning LS-218 is an electric motorcycle.
The Lightning SuperBike is equally suited to track days or weekend rides on your favorite back roads. The Lightning SuperBike became the world’s fastest production electric motorcycle with the SCTA official World Record of 215.960 mph and a best timed run of 218.637 mph at Bonneville during Speedweek in August. Our SuperBike also holds the world land speed record for the fastest production motorcycle, electric or otherwise. Making it not only the fastest electric bike available, but the fastest bike available (period). Oh yeah, did we mention that this record was set using all solar energy? The SuperBikes also have quite the record of circuit wins. FIM EPower championships at Le Mans 24 Hours, TTXGP wins, all run on electricity.
Lightning Motorcycle has partnered with Race Tech for track ready suspension development, and every Lightning SuperBike is factory equipped with track mapping data acquisition. The Lightning Electric SuperBike has a usable freeway speed range of over 100 miles and a combined city and highway EPA range of over 150 miles and a top speed potential of over 218 mph.
The Lightning LS-218 was added in the Holiday Update as a high-end Class S motorcycle with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 1430
- MAX rank: 1663 (+233)
- MAX+PRO rank: 1795 (+132)
- Tuning Kit bonus: +24
- Stock-to-MAX+PRO rank difference: 365
- Speed Modifier: 100.03%
- Upgrade rank percentages: 25/25/25/25
- Nitro Efficiency: 8/12/15/Supercharged 15
The LS-218 reaches its maximum real total speed of 308.8 mph/497.3 km/h in 3.333 seconds, making the bike an upgrade to the Kawasaki Ninja H2R, especially considering the latter's low nitro efficiency of 10/15/20/Supercharged 20. With Supercharged Nitro, it reaches 332.1 mph/534.7 km/h, the second highest speed of any vehicle in the game, behind the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG Special Edition's 335.2 mph/539.8 km/h.
One should be aware that the Lightning LS-218 has a rather poor acceleration stat compared to the other motorcycles, and its handling, while not the worst, is quite mediocre. This is somewhat compensated by its rather good drifting; players should also be aware that the drift radius, in a similar fashion to the Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport and Nissan 370Z Special Edition, is only sharp when upgraded, meaning that the bike's drifting capabilities are somewhat similar to the NanoFlowcell QUANT FE if left unupgraded.
The LS-218 is the current best Class S motorcycle, thus making it dominate every motorcycle-only Event. It would also dominate electric events.
Despite its performance, using it in Multiplayer is not advisable due to its low stability.
