The Maserati GranTurismo Sport is a grand tourer made by Maserati in the Asphalt series.
Description
Replacing both the GranTurismo S and GranTurismo S Automatica, the GranTurismo Sport was unveiled in March 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. The revised 4.7L engine is rated 460 PS (338 kW; 454 hp). The GranTurismo Sport features a unique, GranTurismo MC Stradale inspired front fascia, new headlights and new, sportier steering wheel and seats. The ZF six-speed automatic gearbox is now standard, while the six-speed sequential transaxle is available as an option. The latter has steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a feature that's optional with the automatic gearbox.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
The Maserati GranTurismo appears as a low Class B car with the following statistics:
- Starting rank: 1205
- This was changed to 1251 in the 2019 Spring Update
- MAX rank: 1381
- This was changed to 1364 in the 2019 Spring Update
- MAX+PRO rank: 1438
- This was changed to 1401 in the 2019 Spring Update
- Tuning Kit bonus: +41
- This was changed to +38 in the 2019 Spring Update
- Stock to MAX+PRO rank difference: 233
- This was changed to 150 in the 2019 Spring Update.
- Nitro Efficiency: 9/14/18
The Maserati GranTurismo Sport's acceleration is rather sluggish, slower than that of the Aston Martin DB9 Coupé. Similar to the DB9, the GranTurismo Sport is tailored specifically for top speed, which makes it a good choice on straight line-focused tracks like Iceland. However, like with the DB9, the GranTurismo Sport is rather heavy, which degrades its handling capabilities. Its rear-wheel-drive layout degrades it even further. The GranTurismo Sport features better nitro than the DB9, but is still far from the best.
As of the Fifteenth Anniversary Update, the Maserati GranTurismo Sport costs 365,000 to purchase (originally 25,000, then 37,500 and then 65,000).
As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades cost 506,000 while Pro Kits require 81,600, 8 of each Class B Part and 8 Initial & Early Techs each.
