The Mazda 6 Sedan (GJ) is the third generation sedan model of the Mazda 6 midsize family car. It was introduced in 2013.

Description

The Mazda 6 (known as the Mazda Atenza in China and Japan) is a large family car produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Mazda since 2002. It replaced the long-serving Mazda Capella (616, 626) in 2002. The Mazda 6 has sold over one million units worldwide since its introduction, hitting this sales milestone faster than all previous Mazdas.

The Mazda 6 was the first example of the company's new Stylish, Insightful, and Spirited design philosophy followed by the Mazda 2 in December 2002, the RX-8 in August 2003, the Mazda 3 in January 2004, the Mazda 5 in the summer of 2005, the MX-5 in October 2005, and the Mazda CX-7 in November 2006.

The third-generation Mazda 6 was unveiled during Moscow International Motor Show in late August 2012. In this generation, there are only 4-door sedan and 5-door station wagon versions available.

Its design has been extremely well-received, and was a finalist in the "2013 World Design Of The Year".

The Japanese models Mazda Atenza went on sale from 2012-11-01. Early models include 20S (sedan/wagon), 25S (sedan/wagon), XD (sedan/wagon), XD L-package (sedan/wagon).

For 2014, the changes include SCBS (smart city brake support) become standard for the Atenza 20S and XD, increased efficiency for SKYACTIV-G 2.5 engine models to 16.0 km/L (JC08 mode), new slide glass sunroof option for SKYACTIV-D 2.2 engine models, addition of XD L-package (6-speed manual transmission, leather seats), Bose 11-speaker sound system with Centerpoint 2 surround sound become standard in XD L-package models, addition of deep crystal blue mica body colour to total of 7 body colour options.

Performance

Note: The following section is based on the Mazda 6's performance prior to the Showdown Update.

The Mazda 6's main strengths are its rapid acceleration, excellent drifting capabilities and high raw top speed. The Mazda 6's advantage over most Class D cars is its high top speed stat, even higher than the SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI.

The biggest downfall of the Mazda 6 is its poor nitro efficiency, the same as the BMW M3 Sedan. While the Mazda 6 can perform well on short tracks against similar cars, its short nitro is detrimental on long tracks like Tokyo and Azure Coast, although Extra Tanks and skill can remedy this issue.

While the Mazda 6's low rank can allow the car to be tuned for Multiplayer races, it should be noted that it will not be the best car for Multiplayer, because much like the Volkswagen Beetle Turbo and the SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI, its poor nitro efficiency puts it in direct stiff with the Renault DeZir, Range Rover Evoque Coupe HSE Dynamic and Porsche 959. The Mazda 6 only works between ranks 850~1000 as anything beyond that will put it against Audi R8 e-tron Special Editions.

Price

The Mazda 6 had an original price of  270,000 or  1,475 but was updated in the Car Blueprints Update to require 20 of its blueprints. The Mazda 6's BP cards were given out as a Daily Bonus reward if the player logged in for at least 25 days in June 2017, and again for 30 days in March 2018 and April 2018. Assembly takes 2 hours and 30 minutes to finish but can be skipped for up to  214.

In the Showdown Update, the car no longer required Blueprints to be assembled and cost  1,475.

As of the Fifteenth Anniversary Update it costs  1,000.

The Mazda 6 counts towards the Japanese Dragons collection. Completing both versions awards a total of  975,000.

Kit cards for the Mazda 6 can be obtained by purchasing the Premium Pass for the Racing Pass 2 and can be bought with  Mileage Coins. A total of  33 is needed to obtain all the kit cards.

The Mazda 6 was obtainable again in the following events:

1. Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 Car Hunt by reaching Tier 50. Players who already owned the car would get 8x Wild Card - Common instead.
2. 11th Anniversary Cake Hunt between August 31 - September 7, 2024 by choosing the correct face-down cell after shuffling. Players who already owned the car would get 1x Master Key - Common instead.

Between the Gangstar Season Update and the 2023 Holiday Update, upgrades require 55 of each Common Tires, Common Suspension, Common Drivetrain, and Common Exhaust, 160 Mazda 6 Kit and  4,800,000.

During the 2024 Spring Update, upgrades require 45 of each Common Tires, Common Suspension, Common Drivetrain, and Common Exhaust, 160 Mazda 6 Kit and  4,800,000.

As of the Mercedes Season Update, upgrades require 40 of each Common Tires, Common Suspension, Common Drivetrain, and Common Exhaust, 160 Mazda 6 Kit and  3,000,000.
