Trivia[]
General
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 was driven by Vodafone McLaren Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button during the 2010 Formula 1 Season.
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25's sponsors are Vodafone, Hilton Hotels, Aigo, Bridgestone, Hugo Boss, Johnnie Walker and Mobil 1.
- The McLaren M14A and McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 are the first McLaren cars added to the game that are not featured in the McLaren collection, as they were added in the Championship Update. Despite this, the M14A, MP4-25, MP4/8, and MP4-31 did appear in the Bolides collection added in the Porsche Update.
- They are also the first open-top cars in the mainline series since Asphalt 7: Heat.
- They are also the first real-life Formula One vehicles to be added into the game series, in contrast with Asphalt Urban GT 2's fictional Grand Prix Racer.
- Because of this, both the McLaren M14A and the McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 are the first cars in the game to include driver characters.
- They are also the first cars in the game to require only Pro upgrades, similar to all cars in Asphalt Nitro and Asphalt Xtreme.
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 is also the first Class A car to have 10 Pro Kit formulas instead of the standard 5 and use a unique Pro Kit engine card, the Custom Racing Engine card.
- Due to the lack of MAX upgrades, the McLaren Mercedes MP4-25's Season 9 race can be done even without upgrades.
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 appears on the icon for the Championship Update, making it the third McLaren car to be featured on the icon of any Asphalt game, after the McLaren P1™ GTR and McLaren F1 XP-5.
- The background for the icon featuring the MP4-25 is heavily similar to the one in the Santa's Gift Update icon featuring the Lamborghini Egoista.
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 in the game is different from the real life version:
- The F-duct on the car has been removed.
- The Aigo, Bridgestone, Hugo Boss, Mobil 1, and Johnnie Walker logos are not present on the car.
- In the case of Johnnie Walker however, this is due to international alcohol advertising regulations.
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 is the first and only non-original car in the game with the "Formula One" engine sound without any pitch alterations.
- It is also the first car since the game's original release to share its engine sound with the Ferrari FXX Evoluzione.
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25's final Mastery Challenge erroneously required a rank of 1767, which cannot be achieved even by fully upgrading the car. This has been fixed as of the Lunar New Year 2017 Update.
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 is the third time-limited McLaren car, after the McLaren M14A and McLaren 570S.
- The McLaren Mercedes MP4-25's banner (pictured above) depicts it with Yomishiri Gripmotion tires (in real life it uses Bridgestone tires). The actual in-game car doesn't use those tires (same applies to McLaren 675LT).
- The car that appears in the game has a racing number of #1, driven by Jenson Button during the 2010 Formula 1 season.
