The McLaren P1 is a hyper car made by McLaren in the Asphalt series. The McLaren P1 is the replacement of the McLaren F1 whose last appearance was in Asphalt 7: Heat.
Overview
The McLaren P1 is the replacement of the McLaren F1, whose last appearance in an Asphalt game was in Asphalt 7: Heat.
The McLaren P1 is powered by a 3.8 L twin-turbocharged V8 engine similar only to the McLaren 12C Spider in engine displacement, but with a power rating of 737 PS (542 kW; 727 bhp) and 719 Nm (531 lb ft) of torque at 7,300 rpm. An in-house-developed electric motor supplies an additional 179 PS (131 kW; 176 bhp) and 260 Nm (192 lb ft), which totals to 916 PS (903 bhp) and 980 Nm (723 lb ft) of torque, respectively.
The McLaren P1 is said to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.8 seconds, 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 6.8 seconds, and 0 to 186 mph (300 km/h) in 16.5 seconds, making it a full 5.5 seconds faster than the McLaren F1. The top speed is electronically limited to 217 mph (350 km/h).
Only 375 units in the real world were made, with the entire run of 375 units in the world are selling out by November 2013.
The McLaren P1's competitors are the Lamborghini Veneno, Pagani Huayra, Ferrari LaFerrari and the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Therefore, the McLaren P1 is considered as a hyper car.
Asphalt 8: Airborne
The McLaren P1 is one of the few cars introduced in the Great Wall update.
The McLaren P1 is among one of the most powerful Class A cars in the game, with a starting rank of 1470 and a maximum rank of 1611 (shared with the Jaguar C-X75). When a Pro Kit is applied, the P1 gains a final rank of 1698, making it the eighth most powerful Class A car in the game, after the Savage Rivale GTR and Nissan GT-R NISMO, both with a final rank of 1701, the Volkswagen W12, with a final rank of 1706, the Tramontana XTR with final rank of 1711, the Ferrari 330 P4 with final rank of 1749, the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 (1758) and McLaren 675LT (1763). This is one of the most popular cars in time-limited events involving Class A cars, thanks to its superb stats and an excellent nitro efficiency. However, it still has a slower nitro boost and wider turning radius than the Ferrari LaFerrari (which also handles better), but still has a better top speed. Occasionally, if the player isn't careful, the P1 may suffer from skid glitches on any track, like with the Koenigsegg Agera R and Mercedes-Benz Biome. This is especially true on Tokyo and Venice, where there are puddles on the track (in the case of Tokyo, the roads are wet due to the rainy weather). However, with very good stats, the P1 becomes an effective choice on any track, only beaten by the Savage Rivale GTR on most tracks.
The McLaren P1 costs 475,000 to purchase and like with most other Class A cars, 364,400 to max out. Prior to the release of the Ferrari FF, the McLaren P1's cost was 420,000 (the same as that of the Pagani Huayra from Class S). Overall, if the player can't use the Savage Rivale GTR due to its extremely high max upgrade price of 2,848,900, the P1 is a much cheaper alternative.
The McLaren P1 has only two events (both are Classic events) in Career mode:
- Race 34 of Season 7, set in Buddha's Teachings. One of the bonus stars is: Perfect Runs: 4.
- Race 59 of Season 9, set in The Rose of the Desert. One of the bonus stars is: Beat a Race Time of 01:05:000.
Both events have a bonus star of No Wrecks.
The McLaren P1 also appears as an AI racer in the two aforementioned events, as well as the Nissan GT-R NISMO's Season 8 race, set in San Diego Harbor.
