Overview[]
- Text originally from the Mercedes-AMG GT's Wikipedia article.
The Mercedes-AMG GT (C190 / R190) is a sports car produced in coupé and roadster bodystyles by German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-AMG. The car was introduced on 9 September 2014 and was officially unveiled to the public in October 2014 at the Paris Motor Show. After the SLS AMG, it is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG. Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton assisted with the development. The Mercedes-AMG GT went on sale in two variants (GT and GT S) in March 2015, while a GT3 racing variant of the car was introduced in 2015. A high performance variant called the GT R was introduced in 2016. A GT4 racing variant, targeted at semi-professional drivers and based on the GT R variant, was introduced in 2017. All variants are assembled at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Sindelfingen, Germany.
Asphalt Street Storm Racing[]
Availability[]
The Mercedes-AMG GT was included as one of the original Class B cars during Asphalt Street Storm's soft launch. While the shop included Mercedes as a manufacturer, the AMG GT was not available to players and only bots were allowed to have the car. It would eventually be released with a Champions Clash event between July 14 - 17 2017 as a car prize for the top 10 players.
The AMG GT and its Blueprints are only obtainable from Gold Gift Boxes
Performance & Usage[]
Despite its exclusivity, the AMG GT's performance does not live up to its rarity. While it has similar stats to the Ford Shelby GT350, its shifting pattern and slow acceleration limits it as a mid Class B car, comparable to the Chevrolet Camaro GS. The AMG GT can also be considered as a Class B version of the Renault CLIO R.S. 220 Trophy EDC as both are only obtainable from Gift Boxes and have identical shifting patterns.
