The Mercedes-AMG ONE, formerly known as Mercedes-AMG Project ONE as a prototype, is a hybrid hypercar utilizing technology derived from Formula One in 2015.
Description[]
Nearly five years after the concept debuted, the production Mercedes-AMG One has been unveiled in 2022. The production version retains the same design as the concept from 2017. This mid-mounted "beast" is equipped with an F1 origins engine, capable of producing 1,049 horsepower.
Compare to the concept car, the front end features an aggressive design, active air vents on the front fenders, upward-opening doors with an active rear spoiler. The rear end has been redesigned with a more prominent contour above the LED taillights and some differences on the large diffuser, which houses three F1-inspired exhaust pipes. Other changes include a removable carbon fiber engine cover and larger rear mirrors.
The Mercedes-AMG One is powered by a V6 hybrid engine, branded E Performance, with a combined output of 1,049 horsepower from an internal combustion engine and four electric motors. The 1.6 V6 is a mid-mounted, electric-turbocharged engine, limited to 11,000 rpm, derived from Mercedes' F1. The petrol engine alone produces 565 horsepower.
As for the electric motors, one mounted on the crankshaft adds 161 horsepower, one integrated into the turbocharger produces 121 horsepower, and two electric motors mounted on the front axle add 321 horsepower.
The Mercedes-AMG One costs £2 million and is limited to 275 units, all of which has been sold out.[1]
