Asphalt 8: Airborne
Summary
Added in the Dubai update, the Mercedes-Benz Biome is one of the three electric cars by Mercedes-Benz, with the others being the SLS AMG Electric Drive and Silver Lightning. It is located in the Garage at low-mid Class B.
The Mercedes-Benz Biome has the following rank statistics:
- Starting rank: 1192
- This is shared with the Jaguar F-Type R from Class C
- MAX rank: 1486
- MAX+PRO rank: 1590
- Tuning Kit bonus: +57
Despite now being all but obsolete, the Biome was once one of the most influential cars in Asphalt 8 history. When it was introduced, it was the unrivaled Multiplayer king and B Class king, a position it held for a long time, as well as the car with the best handling in the whole game, a title it still holds.
Performance
The Mercedes-Benz Biome has very good top speed (however, better cars have emerged with superior top speed to the Biome), very good nitro efficiency (5/10/15), good acceleration, and, arguably, the best handling in the entire game. In fact, the Biome can take virtually any corner in the game at MAX+PRO, even when it is going at full speed, being able to take infamous turns like the Sector 8 final curve and Dubai's first turn.
However, the Mercedes-Benz Biome has really good drifting. On the other hand, its drifting can be combined with its superb handling using the "drift-punch" technique, allowing the Mercedes-Benz Biome to do "wheelies" which are tighter than those of the Donkervoort D8 GTO, the car with the best drifting in the game.
Owning to its incredible handling, it skids much more than almost any other car, even the McLaren Mercedes MP4-25 and the McLaren MP4-31. The McLaren 650S GT3 is commonly referred to as the "king of skids", but its handling is inferior to that of the Biome. The Biome is more likely to skid when going at full speed towards a curve, especially when the player, instead of going steadily, holds the button through the entire curve. A skid usually leads to a wreck; even if the player can recover, though, a lot of speed is lost.
Usage (Multiplayer)
Due to its low starting rank and large Tuning Kit bonus, the Mercedes-Benz Biome is decent for Multiplayer.
However, as of now, it is nowhere near as good as new cars like the Shelby Cobra 427 or TVR Sagaris because it has an upgrade rank weighting of 65% for raw top speed, instead of the 30% weighting which the Shelby Cobra 427 and TVR Sagaris possess. So, even though it has a very low starting rank, the Mercedes-Benz Biome can't get extremely fast at low ranks.
The Mercedes-Benz Biome used to be a king of Multiplayer, triumphing its competition by far, but after the Multiplayer League Update, and along with it the introduction of the Sagaris, it lost its "king status". As of now, it is overshadowed by many cars, including the Chevrolet 2016 Camaro SS and TVR Sagaris. The Mercedes-Benz Biomes runs at ~250 mph (~400 km/h) at a rank of around 1400.
Usage (Other)
The Mercedes-Benz Biome qualifies for its own race in Season 7, which is the final race of Season 7 itself. It also qualifies for the two Mercedes-Benz events in the game, both of which are also in Season 7 but appear earlier than the Mercedes-Benz Biome's event.
Its Season 9 event, set in Dubai, also doubles as a decent farming race, with a base payout of about 4,700 for 1 minute of driving.
Price
At 450,000 (same as the Ferrari FF from Class A), the Mercedes-Benz Biome was one of the most expensive Class B cars in the game available for purchase by credits upon its introduction. It was the second most expensive Mercedes-Benz vehicle in the game (excluding the Premium Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Coupé Final Edition) to the Mercedes-AMG GT3 . The Biome also costs 1,276,425 to MAX. As of March 24, 2018, the Biome's price is now reduced to 150,000.
