Text originally from the Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force's Wikipedia article.

Unveiled at the 2012 LA Auto Show, the Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force is a concept vehicle based on the concept of a future police car developed for the Los Angeles Design Challenge 2012. It includes a 3-panel greenhouse, 20-inch rims, recycled water in tanks on the roof with a hydrogen converter and hydrogen fuel cells, 4 wheel-hub motors, a "Terra-Scan" 360-degree topography scanner on the roof, side skirts illumination indicating the operating and charge status of the energy packs, a roof rack and additional lamps integrated into the roof.

Overview[]

The Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force appears as a Class B SUV. It requires Class-B Blueprints 20 blueprints to unlock and has a starting rank of Level 14. Oil changes take 45 minutes to complete and cost Credits 250 per change (This has been removed as of the Netflix Relaunch).

Performance[]

The Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force is one of the strongest SUVs in the game, and is the best SUV that is currently available in the Netflix version of Asphalt Xtreme. While the Ener-G-Force may not excel in top speed and acceleration, both are above average in comparison to the archetype. What the Ener-G-Force excels at is its handling that is exceptionally suited towards drifting. On top of having a great drift radius, the Ener-G-Force can chain drifts easily and effortlessly like the Hummer HX, which is especially valuable for extending all-in nitro bursts by drifting constantly around the track. While the Ener-G-Force is a powerful SUV, SUVs are obsolete compared to the lighter, nimbler, and faster rally cars. The Mercedes still run into the usual pitfalls of SUVs having horrendous acceleration relative to other archetypes, extremely bad airspeed potential, as well as a lower top speed compared to some rally cars, even if an all-in nitro were to be maintained throughout the entire race. These issues ultimately prevent the Ener-G-Force, and SUVs as a whole, from being useful in multiplayer or time limited events, and excel only in niche situations not commonly encountered.

The Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force is limited to a maximum level of 25 without the use of rank up tools. Due to its poor acceleration and insufficient top speed to effectively use the all-in nitro technique, the Ener-G-Force is one of the worst Class B vehicles to use at this rank, and is exceptionally vulnerable to getting knocked down by any monster truck and even faster accelerating pickup trucks at the starting line, essentially making the acceleration to top speed take even longer than it already does. It is strongly recommended to other other cars at this rank of 25, with rally cars being the better alternatives.

At Level 50, the Ener-G-Force still suffers many of the issues as its level 25 version, but now thanks to the added top speed, it is now possible to effectively use the all-in nitro technique similarly to rally cars. Unlike rally cars however, and depending on the track, it is possible to maintain one giant streak of all-in nitro around a track. This is possible because of the longer nitro duration as well as a great nitro recharge rate when drifting, coupled with the extremely difficult task of successfully chaining drifts to refill on nitro. If successfully performed, the Ener-G-Force can be a surprisingly effective vehicle on select tracks. Svalbard and Coachella in particular allows the Ener-G-Force to be a sub-meta choice that can do respectively well with a competent driver. Unfortunately, the Ener-G-Force is nonetheless obsolete as its acceleration, while decent for an SUV, is pitiful compared to the other archetypes, and ultimately results in the Ener-G-Force being outclassed when compared to the quicker, more agile rally cars in the game. The acceleration allows monster trucks to knock the Mercedes down, meaning that evasive maneuvers must be taken at the start of multiplayer races. Even if no knockdowns occur, the acceleration means that the player is behind most vehicles, putting them on the back foot at getting nitro bottles, which can be detrimental, especially when using the all-in technique, as running out of boost is far more punishing for SUVs due to their significantly worse nitro recharge rates.

Boosters[]

Requiring Class-B Blueprints 8 of its own blueprints to activate, the overall performance improvement helps make the Ener-G-Force more competitive, especially with regards to its acceleration. It also makes chaining all-in nitro drifts much easier, while it may not be faster than most of the overclocked rally cars, the Ener-G-Force's overclocked performance still can help it gain ground, and is strongly advised if one is to use it for multiplayer.

Much like rally cars, SUVs do not benefit from extra tank as much as simply chaining all-in nitro drifts. The top speed increase from extra tank is better than rally cars, but since the recharge rate is not good enough to sustain using the all-in with extra tank, and using long nitro with SUVs are slower than using the all-in nitro chain regardless of the extra tank increase, extra tank is not recommended.

Boosted Wheels are always a net positive apart from trucks and monster trucks. While SUVs are more resistant towards rough terrain, the lower acceleration negatively affects SUV's ability to navigate through rough terrain, especially at lower ranks.

While nitro recharger is an objective improvement, the slow recharge rate of SUVs means that the overall recharge rate isn't enough to generate large quantities of boost as quickly as rally cars. Overall, while there is no drawbacks, nitro recharger does not provide as big of a benefit for SUVs as other archetypes.

Time-Limited Events[]

As of the Netflix Update, the Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force has its own test drive available of which it is the only car that can be used. Outside of this event however, the Ener-G-Force is mostly a novelty item as despite being a very fast SUV, it is overshadowed by the more powerful archetypes on all tracks.

Conclusion[]

The Mercedes-Benz Ener-G-Force is the best SUV currently available in the Netflix version of Asphalt Xtreme, despite this, it remains largely irrelevant in comparison to other archetypes due to SUVs being too slow. Despite this, if one is experienced enough to know how to maintain lengthy periods of using all-in nitro, the Ener-G-Force can be an enjoyable downgrade to rally cars.
