The Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG (R172) is a front-engined sports car that is the highest-end model of the R172 (2011—present) Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class.
Description
The Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG (R172) was unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and went on sale in January 2012.
The Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG uses a 5.5L (5,461 cc) naturally aspirated M152 DE55 V8 engine, rated at 415 hp (309 kW) at 6,800 rpm and 398 ft·lb (540 N·m) at 4,500 and equipped with AMG cylinder management, start/stop function, sports exhaust system with integrated exhaust flaps, and AMG sports suspension.
The Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG does 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Asphalt 8: Airborne
The Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG was added in the Santa's Gift Update as a free car, if the player played in the Christmas Cup and completed all events.
The SLK 55 AMG has a starting rank of 971, a MAX rank of 1310, and a MAX+PRO rank of 1498.
The Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG accelerates pretty quickly due to its high-power nitro boost, which does come at the expense of subpar nitro efficiency and top speed. Due to its weight and tire type, its biggest disadvantage is its handling. Overall, this car isn't a very good car to use, considering the stats and for what it's worth. However, this car is particularly useful in TLE events in which top-mid C class cars are used, along with the Acura NSX 2005.
The car is priced at 2,100 for purchase. As of the Car Blueprints Update, it must be assembled with 30 of its Common-rarity Blueprints. Assembly takes 2 hours to finish and can be skipped for up to 195.
As of the Sixth Anniversary Update, the car no longer requires Blueprints to be assembled and has a full purchase price of 1,300, 800 less than the original purchase price.
As of the 2019 Spring Update, upgrades cost 760,000 while Pro Kits require 252,000, 15 of each Class C Part, 16 Early & Initial Techs each, 8 Mid-Techs and 20 V8 Engines.
