The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Black Series is a high-performance variant of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG grand tourer. It takes inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 race car.

Overview[]

The SLS AMG Coupé Black Series is a high-performance variant of the SLS AMG Coupé inspired by the SLS AMG GT3. It includes increased engine power to 622 hp (464 kW) at 7400 rpm and decreased torque to 468 ft·lb (635 N·m) at 5500 rpm, increased engine redline to 8000 rpm, fully revised high-speed valvetrain with modified camshafts, adapted cam geometry and optimised bucket tappets featuring a special coating which is otherwise exclusive to racing vehicles, modification of the intake air ducting (de-restriction and adaptation to the new maximum engine speed), adaptation of the engine application and increase in peak pressure. This results in an acceleration time from 0-60 mph (97 km/h) in 3.5 seconds (1/10 of a second faster than the SLS AMG GT), and a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h) - 1 mph (1.6 km/h) slower than the SLS AMG.

Performance[]

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Black Series has a maximum total speed of 286.6 mph/461.5 km/h at MAX+PRO with a Tuning Kit. This makes the SLS Black Series the sixth fastest Class B car (excluding Elite Cars) in terms of total speed. It has a similar overall performance to the Zenvo ST1 from Class A with the exception of a slightly higher nitro boost at MAX+PRO (with or without Tuning Kit). Its closest performance rival is the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640.

Usage[]

While qualifying for events calling for Mercedes vehicles, the SLS Black Series is not the best choice, as the Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupe Touring Car 2014, Mercedes-Benz Silver Lightning, and Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 Edition are better choices.

In general Events, the SLS Black Series is not recommended as it falls behind the McLaren MP4/8, Mercedes-AMG GT3, and BMW M2 Special Edition.

The SLS Black Series is sometimes featured as the dominant vehicle in the high B-class to low A-class TLE brackets.

Price & Availability[]

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Black Series was originally obtainable only through the completion of its R&D event. As of the 2020 Halloween Update, the SLS AMG Coupe Black Series can be purchased for 1,800,000.

The car was available for limited time during the following dates:

January 31 - February 19 / April 1, 2019: 9,000.
March 20 - 30, 2020: 8,500
April 22 - 26, 2020: 8,500

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Black Series was part of the 36th Multiplayer Season, Daybreak Season 1 as a Champion League Reward.

As of the Gangstar Season Update, upgrades require 55 of each Rare Tires, Rare Suspension, Rare Drivetrain, and Rare Exhaust, 60 Rare Tech, 60 Rare Engine, 160 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Black Series Kit and 8,000,000.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Black Series' R&D event was launched on October 17, 2018 after the Porsche Cayman GT4's Championship. Players are given 5 days to participate and 7 days to complete the event with 50 Tests spanning 4 Labs.
